Chapter 73. 

“Alright, then.” 

Without saying more, Jasper left the hospital. 

Olivia watched him leave as the smile on her face gradually faded. 

Sasha furrowed her brows and asked in confusion, “Why didn’t he react?” 

“He should’ve asked what happened. Why act like nothing’s wrong?” Olivia narrowed her eyes as numerous thoughts raced through her mind. 

When Sasha told her that she had seen Jasper entering Naomi’s ward, anger and jealousy surged in her chest. She and Sasha were both injured, yet Jasper did not even drop by for a visit. Instead, he went to see Naomi. How could she not feel jealous? 

Despite her extreme dissatisfaction, she suppressed it. She pondered for a while and then had Sasha wheel her downstairs to wait outside the hospital. She was not sure if Jasper would actually come down, but she wanted to try. Unexpectedly, Jasper did come down, which led to their brief meeting. 

In those brief minutes, she gathered a lot of information–some confirmed, some uncertain. Still, she guessed that Jasper probably did not visit Naomi on purpose. After all, Naomi was not as important as Sasha, nor was Naomi as important as Olivia. Jasper must have had a genuine reason for being here. 

As for why he went to see Naomi, she did not want to delve into it further. She was already injured, and her purpose from last night had been achieved. That was enough. 

It was best if Naomi would not show up in her and Scott’s world again. Otherwise… 

A fierce glint flashed in Olivia’s eyes for an instant. 

Everything seemed to have settled down after Jasper’s departure. Scott did not show up again, while Olivia and Sasha stopped coming to find Naomi. 

Naomi focused on recovering in the hospital, and Charles remained with her throughout. 

Donna and Dean went back home, but they would visit every day with nutritious meals for Naomi and 

Charles. 

Time passed quickly, and Naomi was discharged from the hospital a week later. 

“We can finally leave the hospital! I’ll cook for you guys when we get home.” Donna smiled as she packed her things in the hospital room. She naturally referred to Naomi and Charles when she said 

you guys‘. 

Dean nodded and said, “Charles, are you going to work today? If not, come to our place for dinner.” 

Charles, also packing up, heard the elders‘ words and replied with a smile, “I’ll go to work tomorrow.”

“That’s good. Since Naomi has nothing to do, you can let Naomi take you around Horizon City after 

dinner.” 

Charles did not answer but looked at Naomi. Naomi was also helping to pack, and her hands had scabbed over. The gauze was removed, revealing a hand covered in scabs. They were not very pleasant. to look at. 

However, no one minded, and Naomi did not care either. For her, being able to do simple things good enough. 

Seeing her holding a water cup to store it in a bag, Charles immediately said, “I’ll do it, you don’t move.” He took the cup from her hand and put it in the bag, not letting her move. 

Naomi smiled at how worried Charles was. “It’s okay, my hand is much better now.”
