Reborn, Reawakened, Rekindled novel Chapter 693

When Irene overheard Russel telling Neil, right from the horse's mouth, that they were still friends, something deep inside her untangled. She knew this was a sign of reconciliation between Neil and Russel.

Sure enough, Neil's expression eased, and after a moment of silence, he confirmed, "Yeah, we'll always be friends."

After saying this, he glanced at Irene, who nodded in approval, as if to say he'd made the right call. At that moment, he seemed like the king of the world, having regained his lost love and mended a friendship.

After the call, Neil opened his arms wide, and Irene, with a smile, tenderly fell into his embrace. They hugged each other tightly.

Not too far off, Hiram, along with Serena and Brandon, were sneakily watching.

"Daddy, tell us a story," Serena said in her sweet, childish voice.

The three of them couldn't sleep, so they had come down, hoping Neil would tuck them in with a bedtime story.

But as they came downstairs, they caught their parents in a loving embrace and felt too shy to interrupt.

Yet, the desire for a bedtime story was so strong in Serena and Brandon that they couldn't resist.

Hiram, the eldest, was a bit more reserved, considering his age.

"White Horse, White Horse!" Brandon was obsessed with the story of White Horse ever since Neil had told them the tale of 'The Odyssey' with a twist, incorporating their favorite song, White Horse.

The two little ones clung to Hiram, their chubby hands grabbing his sleeves, their big eyes filled with longing.

Despite their young age, Serena and Brandon knew better than to interrupt their parents' embrace. But they also knew their big brother would dare to approach, given his age.

Hiram, caught in a dilemma, finally said, "What if I tell you guys a bedtime story?"

"No, no!" Brandon immediately protested, remembering the last time Hiram tried to sing White Horse and how off-tune it was.

Serena also refused, pouting along with Brandon, both on the verge of tears.

With no other option, Hiram mustered his courage. He took each sibling by the hand and led them downstairs to the living room.

Irene, still in Neil's arms, blushed slightly at the sight of the children but gently asked, "Hiram, why aren't you and your siblings asleep yet? You have school tomorrow."

To foster a close relationship among the siblings, Neil and Irene had arranged a large children's room with enough space for three beds, so they could all sleep together.

Their bond had indeed grown stronger over time.
