Salute to the General novel Chapter 1164

Penny heaved a sigh of relief.

That Pike really is too much! He followed us all the way from Brimmopolis to Channing! Argh, of all people, it had to be a noble family! The guards wouldn't dare touch him. Luckily, Nathan returned in time and chased them off.

Penny thought Nathan had simply chased them off. If she knew Nathan had actually beaten Pike into a pulp, she would not have been so calm.

At the Lance residence, Brimmopolis.

Pirk Lance, the head of the Lance household, was fishing in the backyard.

Suddenly, the butler rushed over and whispered, "Sir, something's happened.”

Pirk glanced at the bobber floating on the pond and inquired calmly, "What's wrong?"

The butler replied timidly, "I think it's best if you take a look yourself."

Pirk turned around and glared at the butler, who had his head bowed and remained silent.

Pirk was lost in thought. Something major must have happened, and it must have been something terrible. Otherwise, the butler would never dare to tell me that.

He set his rod aside and got up, instructing plainly, "Let's go!"

Soon, he arrived at the courtyard with a few guards, only to see that a crowd had formed.

Pirk bellowed, "What are all of you doing here? Scram! You should be practicing ancient martial arts!"

When they saw Pirk, the crowd bowed and formed a path for him. They murmured, "Master Pirk is here!”

Pirk then saw Pike's corpse on the ground.

"Pike!"

Pirk was a seasoned veteran who would not flinch even if a mountain collapsed right in front of him. However, when he saw his favorite grandson's corpse, he roared in agony.

Pike's corpse had all its limbs broken, and his face had sunk inwards. He was barely recognizable; he no longer looked human.
