Hansel announced that he would punish Nathan, but he merely gave him a slap on the wrist.

Boris knew that this was not a punishment at all; rather, Hansel was protecting Nathan.

Initially, the Cabinet had decided to remove Nathan from office; nevertheless, Hansel overturned their decision.

In the end, even though Nathan had barged into a Cabinet member's house and ransacked the place, he would only be locked in the Black Shack for three days.

Boris' past misdeeds would soon be exposed.

An air of despondency surrounded him as he knew that he was doomed.

His face turned pale when he was met with Hansel's icy gaze.

At this moment, he knew that Hansel had deceived him, hoping that he would let his guard down. Boris' actions would bring about his downfall to this day.

He was misled into believing that Hansel would forever be paralyzed. Since Hansel's term of office would expire soon, he thought that the man no longer posed a threat to him.

Soon, he put Hansel in the back of his mind and focused on getting rid of Nathan so that his follower could take over Nathan's power as the General of the North.

That way, he could expand his influence and have the upper hand over the other candidates

during the next presidential election.

For years, he had been making preparations for his presidential dream; to his utter misfortune, all his plans were currently ruined because of his carelessness.

Meanwhile, Hansel asked the Cabinet members to look at the documents that contained Boris' incriminating evidence.

After everyone skimmed through the documents, he stated coldly, “For years, we've been tackling corruption in the government. I never once thought that the corrupt official would be Cabinet member sitting amongst us.”

In an instant, all Cabinet members stood up, uttering in quivering voices, “We are guilty.”
