Warren exclaimed, “How dare you talk to me like this? My son-in-law works under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and he has connections in Brimmopolis. Do you want me to ask him to teach you a lesson?”
Nathan sneered, “Go ahead. Call him now!”
You asked for it! Don't blame me for your ill fate later!
Warren took out his phone in front of everyone and called his son-in-law, Kerk, and explained the situation. He then raised his voice, “Give the police a call, or ask the Secret Service to come and take Nathan away.”
Over at the other end of the phone, Kerk fell from the chair upon knowing his father-in-law had offended Nathan and even threatened to
lock the latter up.
Upon hearing a thud from the phone, Warren asked, “Hey, are you all right?”
Kerk immediately grabbed the phone and said in a trembling voice, “Out of thousands and millions of people in the world, why do you have to offend him?”
Warren froze. “What do you mean?”
Kerk said in between sobs. “Do you know who Nathan Cross is?”
“He's the commander-in-chief of the North, General of the North, the God of War, and the President's favorite disciple!”
“Hayley and I accidentally offended the General last night, and we got the shock of our lives!
Thank goodness, the General was magnanimous enough to forgive us.
“And now you stepped on his toes? We're doomed. The Sanders family is doomed...”
Warren started shivering, and fear was written all over his face when he looked at Nathan. He was shaking so badly that he even dropped his phone.
