Salute to the General novel Chapter 1816

Adrian's face was white as a sheet. He seemed to have lost all of his gumption and swagger from before—even his voice shook a little as he addressed Nathan. “G-General...l admit my mistakes. I deserve to be killed for offending you like this, and I'll accept whatever punishment you deem appropriate for me. Please have mercy on I" me!

Adrian knew he had gotten himself into hot water, and could only receive his punishment as Nathan saw fit. Even if the General decided to kill or disembowel him today, he would have no choice but to go along with it.

Everyone was looking at Nathan, wondering how he was going to teach this errant loser a lesson.

Nathan remained seated on his chair with a look of perfect calm on his face. In a pleasant voice, he said, “There's something I'm very curious about. Since you don't know who I am, why did you come and stir up trouble for me?”

Sweat started to bead on Adrian's forehead. He stuttered and stammered, but couldn't string together a complete answer to Nathan's question.

He couldn't tell Nathan his reason for doing so lest he got enraged again. However, Mr.

Goldstein downstairs was a formidable man, too.

If he exposed Mr. Goldstein, Nathan might let him off the hook, but Adrian would die at (leaser's hands instead.

Hence, he didn't dare to tell Nathan the truth about the situation.

At that moment, however, one of the Elite Eights stepped forward.

He went over to Nathan and whispered in his ear, telling him the real reason why Adrian had barged into the room to cause trouble for him.

As he listened to the man, a look of realization dawned on Nathan's face.

Anger and amusement mingled on his face as he gazed at Adrian. This fool who hailed from the West had really gone all out in order to befriend Leaser, even resorting to taking revenge on Nathan on his behalf!

However, unlike the reckless Adrian, Nathan wasn't one to hold a grudge. In a cold voice, he said, “I see. So you came to stir up trouble for me only because you were bored and had nothing better to do?

“Since that seems to be the case, you will remain behind in Brimmopolis and do community work for a month. It's about time you start

contributing back to society.

“You'll only be able to leave Brimmopolis after performing community service a month—do you understand?”

Community service?

Adrian looked rather dazed. Did this mean he had to go and help out in old folks' homes or volunteer to direct the traffic on the roads?Worse still, he had to do it for a month!

This punishment was a sort of torture to him!

However, he didn't dare to protest. Nathan was already being kind enough to him by deciding to spare his life.
