Salute to the General novel Chapter 1817

As soon as she finished speaking, everyone in the room turned to look at each other in shock. Someone even let out a whistle of surprise.

So the Mr. Goldstein in question was Clifford Davier's son!

Recently, Mr. Davier and Mr. Lucas had been engaged in a bitter fight over the presidential elections.

However, many people knew that Mr. Davier was a more capable candidate, and there was a good chance that he was going to win the elections and become the next president.

Besides, Mr. Davier occupied the position of Secretary in the Great Cabinet, making him senior in rank to Mr. Lucas.

Within their wealthy, privileged circle of friends, Leasers status was no lower than Corey's either —in fact, some people might even say that he was of a more prestigious status.

Usually, Corey knew better than to stir up trouble for Leaser Goldstein.

However, tonight was different.

Corey had booked Barbara for the night. In fact, he had done so way in advance.

However, Leaser had snatched her away without so much as giving him a heads up.

This was a huge form of disrespect to Corey!

Besides, Nathan and the rest of his friends were present right now. If he gave in to Leaser's arrogant demands tonight, he would never be able to walk with his head held high before them

again.

Besides, his father and Leasers father were battling it out over the presidential elections.

If he lost to Leaser tonight, everyone would think that the Lucas family was weaker than the Davier family. He couldn't let that happen.

Hence, no matter the cost, he had to settle this matter with Leaser tonight. Not only that—he had to win this fight as well!

With a steely glint in his eyes, Corey turned to Louisa and snapped, “I don't care who that jerk is. Go downstairs right now and tell Barbara to come up to my room. And I mean now.”

Louisa had no choice but to obey his instructions and make her way down to Leaser's private room.

However, barely a few seconds later, she emerged from the room again with a huge red mark in the shape of a palm on her face.

On the verge of tears, Louisa moaned, “Young Mr. Lucas, I passed on your message to Mr. Goldstein. Before Barbara could even stand up, however, he struck me across the face!”

“He told me to get lost, and even said...”

Corey looked both stunned and furious. “What else did he say?”

“I dare not repeat what he said...” Louisa whispered timidly.

Corey was infuriated. “Speak!” he ordered.

Louisa had no choice but to say, “Mr. Goldstein called you a jackass for daring to fight over a woman with him. He also says that if you want to get your hands on Barbara, you'd better go downstairs and talk to him yourself.”

Corey's turned scarlet with rage. He roared, “How preposterous of him! Everyone, come downstairs with me right now. Since he wants to meet me so much, I'll satisfy his desire.”

With that, he led his cronies down the stairs, startling the people they passed by with the frightening look on their faces.

Penny gaped in horror. She turned to Nathan and said in a small voice, “Oh dear. Are these wealthy gentlemen really going to get into a fight over some club hostess?”

Nathan smiled at her. “Things aren't as simple as they seem. A complicated relationship exists between both parties.”
