Salute to the General novel Chapter 225

Publicly apologize on television?

Sylvie's conscience started pricking on her.

Nathan raised his eyebrow. "Why? You're afraid because you know you're at fault?”

Sylvie firmly believed that Penny's necklace was fake, and so she hissed through gritted teeth, "What do I have to feel guilty about? Let's do this if you wanted it so much! Everyone here can be a witness. So, how're you going to prove her necklace is real?"

Nathan turned to look at Sean. "Grandpa, you're the most knowledgeable here. According to you, who's the most esteemed jewelry appraiser in Channing?"

Sean gave it a thought before answering, "Of course it's the boss of Perpetual Love, River Chamberlain. He's a well-known jeweler in Channing, and a very respected jewelry appraiser too."

"The necklace 'Evermore' has always been the hallmark of Perpetual Love,” Nathan nodded. "In that case, let's invite River

Chamberlain over and have him determine the authenticity of these necklaces."

Nathan gave Colin Dunne a call.

Not long after, Colin arrived with the esteemed jewelry appraiser, River Chamberlain.

When River saw Nathan, he trembled as he greeted him reverently. "Good evening Mr. Cross and Mrs. Cross."

Nathan personally removed the pink diamond necklace from Penny's neck and handed it over to River. "Mr. Chamberlain, thank you for coming. Someone has been accusing my wife of wearing an imitation. I would like it if you could determine its authenticity for us right here."

River quickly got to work and put on his white gloves and glasses, then studied the necklace meticulously.

Finally, he raised his head and in a somber voice, he said, "Mr. Cross and Mrs. Cross. I will swear on my life, this 'Evermore' necklace is genuine. It's estimated cost is at least a hundred million.”

River's declaration elicited gasps from the crowd.

Sylvie herself felt like she had been struck by lightning. Her whole body shake and her face was drained of all color. "No! That's impossible!”

River was highly unimpressed with Sylvie's insistence. "Are you questioning my expertise?"

Nathan gave a small smile. "Mr.

Chamberlain, Ms. Larson also owns a pink diamond necklace like 'Evermore,' and she insists hers is genuine too. Why don't you have a look at hers too so we can finally lay this to rest."

River glanced at the necklace around Sylvie's neck. "Hers is an imitation and a cheap one too. The supposed diamonds are merely man-made spinel. I can swear that in my name and reputation."

This time, everyone looked at Sylvie Larson in awe.

She already had a reputation for enjoying men's companies. And now, she was caught slandering Penny while she herself was wearing a fake necklace. Her attitude was truly atrocious and the crowd disdained her for her ill behavior.
