As night fell, the city lights illuminated the streets.
Everyone was having dinner.
At the Riverside Garden, Nathan and his family sat together and prepared to dig in.
Suddenly, they heard knocks on the door.
It took Benson and Leah by surprise.
Frowning, Benson muttered, “Who would be at the door at this hour?” “Stay here, Dad. I'll go get it,” Nathan remarked and promptly headed for the door.
Feeling uneasy, Penny followed behind him.
Nathan opened the door to reveal an elegant lady in a suit. She had her hair tied into a ponytail, which gave her a professional look.
The Elite Eight was hidden in the vicinity to protect Nathan's family. Noticing an unexpected visitor, they looked at Nathan and awaited his command to get rid of her.
However, Nathan did not perceive her as a threat and was in no hurry to chase her out. He glanced at the woman and probed coldly, “Who are you?”
The lady smiled. “Mr. Cross, Ms. Camden, my name's Lucy, and I work for Mr. Camden.”
Instantly, Penny narrowed her eyes, frowning.
Nathan interrogated, “What is your purpose here?”
Politely, Lucy explained, “Well, Mr. Camden is getting old and starting to feel sentimental. As such, he misses his daughter, Ms. Camden. Mr.
Camden had some grilled fish for dinner tonight and mentioned that it was Ms. Camden’s mother’s favorite dish. Then, he commented that Ms. Camden would probably like it too. As such, he has requested me to send the fish to Ms. Camden to have a taste.”
Hearing what Lucy had to say, Penny's expression dimmed. “What is the meaning of this? Is he trying to play the sympathy card since I refused to acknowledge him?”
Lucy chuckled and did not answer her directly. “Well, I'm only here as an errand girl. Anyway, Mr. Camden wanted me to tell Ms. Camden that if you wish to meet with him or listen to some of the past stories of your mother, he will be waiting for you at the Dragon Palace Restaurant in the East.”
Penny gritted her teeth and hissed, “I'm not interested! And please take the dish back.”
