Salute to the General novel Chapter 2285

Oliver's face contorted as he bit the bullet. “General Cross, you are no longer the Commander-In-Chief of the North Army. And even if you are, I don't think I'm obligated to explain my work to you.”

Nathan's expression darkened.

He was about to lose his temper when Colin said to him in a low voice, “General, let's settle this behind closed doors. This is not the time and place.”

Nathan nodded and turned to Oliver. “It's twelve o'clock now. I'll give you six hours. I want you and whoever that ordered you to free Kristoff and Bowen to meet me in the mayor’s office at six sharp.”

He added, “Six hours should be more than enough for your boss to get his ass over no matter where he is posted. Be prepared to face the consequences if you don't show up at six o'clock sharp.”

Oliver knew Nathan was the General. He was also well aware that the latter was once the Commander-In-Chief of the North Army.

However, he felt he didn’t need to take Nathan seriously since the man was no longer part of the military.

Moreover, his detention unit had a different operating system from the military. The military had no say in his matters. Hence, he wasn't afraid of the God of War since he had no real power.

Oliver steeled himself and replied, “That’s right. My boss did order me to let them off. I can tell him you want to see him, but I can't guarantee that he will be willing to meet you. Besides, I'm worried you might be scared after meeting my boss in the flesh. Nathan, if I were you, I would let this slide.”

Nathan flashed a smile that did not reach his eyes. “You mean to say I will be scared after meeting your boss? That's interesting. I’m even more determined to meet him now after hearing you out. Remember, if he doesn't show up at six o’clock sharp tonight, you'll be the first to taste my wrath.”

With that, he left with Penny, Queenie, Colin, and Ava in tow.

After sending Penny, Queenie, and Ava to the piano class, Nathan and Colin left.

They arrived at the mayor's office at five o'clock. It was the time when most people were getting off work.
