Salute to the General novel Chapter 2413

Cayden was furious.

His subordinates, including the Four Combat Kings, had been wounded.

Many of his men were hospitalized as well, and they owe it all to Nathan.

Worse still, the legendary assassin, Hellish Assassin, whom Leroy had spent a huge effort in recruiting, had failed to kill Nathan.

The thing that truly pissed Cayden off, however, was the fact that he couldn't meet the Chief Military Governor even though he had dropped by the Headquarters of the

Chief Military Governor twice.

That day was the third time Cayden asked to meet the Chief Military Governor.

Inside the guest room.

Cayden had a grey suit on and was sitting upright in his seat while having his eyes closed.

Leroy stood respectfully at the side.

Then, all they heard was a series of footsteps before they saw a middle-aged man in a military outfit entering the room. That man was none other than Sage Tomlinson, the office manager at the Headquarters of the Chief Military Governor.

Cayden opened his eyes as soon as Sage opened the door.

The latter saluted the former before informing, “I am so sorry, General Quillen, but the Chief Military Governor is in a meeting. Perhaps you'd like to drop by some other time?”

Leroy was enraged when he heard that response.

What the hell? My brother is about to be promoted and become the Assistant the Chief Military Governor! I can't believe the guy is keeping us waiting. This has got to be his way of making fun of my brother.

Cayden remained unmoved, though. He simply shot a look at Sage before calmly replying, “There is no need for that. I can wait until his meeting is over.”

Sage nodded. “Okay, then.”

After saying that, he asked the servers to replenish Layden's tea before leaving the place politely.

The server left as well after refilling the cup with the tea.

Hence, Cayden and Leroy became the only ones left in that spacious room.

Leroy couldn't remain patient, so he complained, “Cayden, do you think the Chief Military Governor is deliberately acting like a divo? Perhaps he is upset with how the higher-ups promoted you as the Assistant the Chief Military Governor. He must be worried about you taking his power, and that is probably why he's making things difficult for us now.”

Cayden had the same thought, but he still reprimanded his brother. “Shut up. Do not say bullsh*ts like that.”

Leroy clamped his mouth shut. He no longer dared to make any assumptions.
