Salute to the General novel Chapter 3051

Nathan and Penny had just returned home to Channing when Colin entered with some news. “Mr. Cross.”

Nathan was surprised. “Is there something wrong?”

“There is a rather special situation,” Colin reported. “The Adrunian church has sent an envoy to visit us. The representative of the visiting group is the Holy Maiden, Hepburn.”

“So they're here,” Nathan said. “What does that have to do with us?”

“Hepburn and her party came to our country and immediately headed for Xendale in the West.”

Surprise flashed across Nathan's eyes. “The church probably learned that the vampire duke Vince died in the West. That's why they came to see what happened?”

“Although they didn't admit it, it's obvious that it must be so.”

“From what I've heard, the vampires and the werewolves are deadly enemies of the church and have fought them thousands of times. The people of the church are interested in Vince's death. Let them trouble themselves if they want to investigate. We will neither resist nor cooperate. Just treat them as tourists.”

“Understood. But...”

“But what?”

“Hepburn and her party stayed in the West for half a day and have come to the South. She wants to meet with you, but the presidential palace has not received your opinion, Mr. Cross, and therefore has not responded to Hepburn's request. I wonder if you would consent to meet this Holy Maiden?”

“I'm not interested,” Nathan said flatly. “Just have the relevant department respond to her. Tell her I am busy with work and have no time to meet with her.”

Colin nodded, although he could not help musing to himself at how the Holy Maiden had an unparalleled status in the world, especially in Adrune. That prestige generally guaranteed that she would be received by the head of state wherever she went.

The Holy Maiden asked to see Mr. Cross, who doesn't want to meet her. It's probably the first time she has ever been turned down.

Nathan turned to Ava after he ordered Colin to reject the Holy Maiden's request. “Get the car ready. I will be having dinner later at Victoria Station Restaurant with my wife and daughter.”

“Yes, Sir.”

Victoria Station Restaurant was a newly opened, high-end Adrunian restaurant in Channing.

Nathan knew his wife enjoyed Adrunian cuisine. As it was rare for him to have the time off, he planned to have steak that night with his wife and daughter.
