Looking around, she saw her surrounding was empty. Only then did she gingerly move forward.
As she was extra vigilant, she was able to notice some people standing guard at the intersection ahead of her in advance. They were examining their surroundings suspiciously, seemingly searching for something.
Right away, she could make out the fact that they were the ones hunting her.
Shocked, she did not dare to make any noise and turned to leave secretly.
She did not forget to take cover wherever she could as though she was prey hiding from a predator.
Yet, she noticed there was no place for her in the city. There was no one on the streets in the middle of the night. Instead, her enemies were all over the place.
At that point, she didn't even dare to go to the police station to look for help.
It was because she was afraid that the terrifying vampire in the clown mask would show up and kill her and everyone in the police station.
In the end, she was exhausted and curled up next to a trash can, crying silently.
Suddenly, a noise sounded up ahead. Her face turned pale instantly as she thought the assassins had caught up with her.
However, when she raised her head, she realized the one approaching her was not her enemy but a middle-aged female sanitation worker.
The sanitation workers in the city usually started cleaning the streets in the middle of the night.
Hepburn hastily rushed forward and pleaded with the sanitation worker, “Hello, kind woman. I'm in trouble. Can you lend me your phone to make a call?”
The middle-aged female sanitation worker looked at Hepburn warily.
Initially, she intended to ignore Hepburn when she saw how dirty and stinky the latter appeared. Nonetheless, Hepburn's voice was clear, which caused her to realize that Hepburn was a young lady. Also, judging from the latter's tone, she could tell the latter was from overseas.
Besides that, she figured out that although Hepburn was in a disheveled state, her eyes were exceedingly beautiful. One could describe them as sparkly.
Following that, she noticed something again. This foreign lady looks like something the cat dragged in, but her facial features are sharp and exquisite. I bet she's a beauty after cleaning up. She's probably not a liar.
After the middle-aged female sanitation worker concluded that, she took out her phone and replied, “Okay. You may make a phone call.”
Hepburn thanked her profusely before picking up the phone to call the pope, Eugene IV, who was thousands of miles away.
When Eugene IV learned of Hepburn's encounter, he uttered grimly, “We don't have many elite fighters in Eurasia. Since the leader of the vampire who hunts for you tonight is able to kill Kevan and Tyland, I guess the elite fighters in Eurasia can't be of help and save you.”
