Clomp! Clomp! Clomp!
Under cover of darkness, countless figures swarmed toward the hotel, the sound of their footsteps echoing in the surroundings.
All of them were Max's subordinates.
He had come to capture Hepburn personally, even mobilizing a group of trusted super-soldiers to do so.
Through the hotel's floor-to-ceiling window, Max watched Colin and Hepburn disappear behind the closing elevator doors right before his eyes.
Thereafter, he saw a tall, handsome man with a muscular body and clear, bright eyes saunter out of the hotel.
The moment he laid eyes on Nathan, noticing, in particular, the latter's headful of white hair, a glint of surprise flashed across his eyes.
It did not take Max long to realize Nathan must have either overexerted himself or suffered a grievous injury in his battle with Lothar to end up with such an appearance.
That thought put a subconscious quirk in his mouth.
He had once fought with Nathan.
Alas, he was no match for the latter at all. Not only was he given a beating, but he was also pummeled to death.
Fortunately for him, fate worked in mysterious ways.
As of then, he had become a vampire and fed on Lothar's fresh blood, which elevated his strength to the next level.
In contrast to him, Nathan was still recovering from a brutal fight and was clearly not in a battle-ready state.
Now that I have surpassed Nathan, this night will be his last.
With that thought in his mind, the smug glint in Max's eyes sparkled with greater intensity.
In the meantime, his subordinates who had gathered around him suggested, “Sir, Hepburn is hiding inside the hotel. All of us can attack at once, kill this man, and then capture her.”
Max shook his head. “No, none of you can defeat him. Only I am capable of killing him. Hence, there's no need for you to sacrifice your life needlessly.”
His subordinates were stunned by his words as they did not recognize Nathan.
Max dismissed them with a wave. “Stand down and seal off the streets instead. Don't let anyone come in.”
