Salute to the General novel Chapter 3315

The following day dawned, with the sun just beginning to rise on the horizon. Nevertheless, on Earth, the distinction between day and night had become blurred, as the world was now enveloped in perpetual darkness. Even in the morning, the land remained as obscure as it did during the night. However, atop the summit of the God's Palm mountain range, the alliance had gathered in its entirety. In the most prominent location on the mountain, the towering flag of the alliance's commander-in-chief stood proudly aloft. The mountain breeze caused the grand flag to flutter and rustle.

Nathan stood with a sense of pride beneath the towering flag. Beside him stood Colin and Hepburn, while behind them stood the Elite Eight in a straight line. Further behind, there were the five thousand members of Tiger Brigade led by Myron, the five thousand members of Holy Warriors, and the five thousand members of Infernal Warriors. The only person missing from the scene was Leopold.

Nathan stood at an elevated position, his gaze fixed on the distant horizon. In the distance, on the western plains beyond the mountain range, Nathan's keen eyes discerned numerous dark spots emerging, resembling a tidal wave as they gradually approached their location.

It was the vampire army, marching steadily toward them. On the eastern side of the mountain range, Wolfric, having been informed of the imminent threat, took charge and rallied a formidable team of War Gods from diverse nations. Leading the combined forces of the alliance's main troops, they marched resolutely toward the mountains. The vampire army and the human alliance reached a location approximately fifty kilometers away from the God's Palm, coming to a simultaneous halt. After coming to a halt, the human alliance maintained a static position, with no immediate signs of movement. However, in the midst of the vampire army, a small but determined squad emerged, breaking away from the main force and charging up the mountain with unwavering determination.

Their eyes were fixed on the summit, their objective clear. Standing beside Nathan, Hepburn, equipped with military-grade night vision goggles, scanned the vampire troops in the distance. As she observed the movements, her eyes caught sight of several distinct flags fluttering among their ranks. Recognizing them, she couldn't contain her surprise and exclaimed, “Those are the royal banners of the vampires!”

She added, “It appears that Gregg is not alone. Joshua and Verhand have also joined the fray, and there's another royal banner alongside them. Ah, it seems to be Max's flag.”

Max?

Upon hearing this, Nathan's eyes flashed with a hint of surprise.

That guy has managed to evade me by sheer luck on several occasions, yet he still has the audacity to appear before me. What courage he must possess!

Though the vampire army that approached the summit was small in number, each member was an elite, and they moved with remarkable speed and agility. In no time, they had already arrived within Nathan's sight, standing just a short distance away. The small group that arrived consisted of merely a thousand vampires. Despite having only about a thousand members in the army, each one of them was a remarkable member of the vampire clan. Even the weakest among them held the title of vampire barons, while the others boasted ranks of earls and marquises. Incredibly, there were even around a dozen vampire dukes among their ranks. In addition to those ranks, there were also four King-Class vampires among their ranks — Gregg, Joshua, Verhand, and Max.

When Max and Nathan met again, it was a meeting of archenemies, and the intensity of their mutual animosity was palpable. Max's gaze toward Nathan was particularly hostile, with a dark and sinister undertone resembling the eyes of a venomous snake. Nathan, in contrast, remarked calmly, “Max, I must commend your audacity for appearing before me.” Having been defeated by Nathan numerous times, Max had grown more composed with each encounter.

Therefore, upon hearing Nathan's words at that moment, he chose not to get angry as he usually would. Instead, he responded coldly, “Victory and defeat are commonplace in the art of war. My repeated defeats won't deter me from fighting again and again. Besides, I firmly believe that I will ultimately emerge victorious over you.” Nathan chuckled softly and remarked, “You possess admirable courage, I'll give you that.”

Upon witnessing Nathan's attention solely on Max and his disregard for Gregg, the latter couldn't hold back his anger and blurted out, “Nathan, don't think that defeating Max makes you invincible and able to withstand my attack. It's audacious of you to claim that you can withstand the relentless onslaught of our elite forces day and night. And is it true that if any of us manages to defeat you, your alliance will surrender unconditionally?” Nathan stood tall with his hands clasped behind his back and calmly responded, “Indeed, it is true. However, before the sun sets, if I defeat you, the hundreds of thousands of your soldiers at the base of the mountain must surrender without resistance.” Gregg chuckled and replied, “Very well, I accept your challenge.” Gregg then taunted, “I'd like to see how a mere human can possibly overcome our numerous skilled vampires.”

Nathan lifted his chin slightly and declared, “Let the battle begin!” Despite Gregg's strong desire to personally defeat Nathan, he couldn't ignore the fact that Nathan had achieved great glory in his past. Nathan had not only triumphed over Max multiple times but had also slain numerous King-Class vampires, establishing an impressive record. Hence, he had no intention of being the first one to step forward and confront Nathan in battle. Instead, Gregg, who appeared rough and impulsive, unexpectedly turned his gaze toward Max, a sly grin forming on his face. He echoed Max's earlier words, “Max, you were correct. Victory and defeat are ordinary occurrences in the art of war. What truly matters is the determination to keep fighting and ultimately overcome the enemy.

Now, a golden opportunity for revenge lies before you. I wonder, do you have the courage to seize the initiative?”
