Colin said immediately, “I'll go with Mr. Cross.” Sevan echoed the same thing, “I'll follow Master too.”
Seeing both their reaction, Wolfric relented.
“Commander Cross, since you insist on your way, I won't try to persuade you any further. Take care.”
After saying that, he left with the rest of the team. Nathan looked at Colin and Sevan and broke into a smile.
“In battle, we rely on our comrades. Well, it's only us three comrades left. Let's go now. We should make our way to Nightfire Underground City.”
Colin and Sevan smiled as they replied together, “We'll go wherever Mr. Cross goes.”
Meanwhile, tens of thousands of vampire warriors had surrounded the forest entrance of Nightfire Underground City, A man with a delicate and handsome face, exuding an aura of elegance, sat gracefully on a chair. Beside him were two maids, one holding a fruit platter and the other holding a glass of red wine. There were a dozen vampire aristocrats standing behind him. Behind them were countless malicious-looking vampire warriors. This man was none other than the vampire earl, Beryn. Beryn parted his luscious, feminine-like lips and ate a grape offered by one of the maids. He asked offhandedly, “Have you found the other entrances to this underground shelter?”
One of his subordinates stepped forward to reply, “Lord Beryn, we've found all the entrances and sealed them. We have also assigned warriors to guard them. If the humans wish to leave this shelter, they can only go through this entrance.”
Pleased, Beryn nodded.
“Cut down all the trees in this forest. I don't like anything blocking my view, and I won't allow anyone to escape from my sight.”
“Yes, Lord Beryn.”
The subordinate gathered a team of vampire warriors and began cutting down the trees. In no time, the lush forest was completely cleared of trees. Beryn smiled.
