Salute to the General novel Chapter 3617

After the elderly man finished speaking, he fled in a fluster.

Penny and the others looked at Nathan.

The latter stood up. “Come. Let's go out and take a look.”

Soon, Nathan and his companions then left the tavern.

All around on the main street, chaos reigned. The scene was akin to an enemy invasion, with people panicking and scattering in all directions out of fear.

Only those with considerable strength or those backed by formidable organizations remained indifferent and stood unmoving in the same spot.

“Oppose coexistence between humans and vampires!”

“Kill the vampires!”

“Strongly condemn the human traitors who collude with vampires!”

Echoes of resounding slogans filled the air.

The next second, they saw large groups of protesters appearing at the end of the street in the distance.

Amid the protesters, various banners and slogans were held aloft, primarily advocating for the downfall of the vampires and condemning those who sided with them.

There were even people burning the Earth Alliance flags and portraits of Nathan, the commander-in-chief of the Earth Alliance, on the street.

Upon witnessing this scene, Penny's pretty face turned ashen, her anger unusually flaring. “Are these people all mad? I can't believe they're burning the Earth Alliance flag and even your portrait, Hubby! Don't they know that if you and the Earth Alliance hadn't existed, the Earth would have perished? All of us humans would've become slaves to the Gods. We've just fought off the Gods, and they dare to do such a thing. How infuriating.”

Nathan observed the protest march. His face had long since turned somber.

The scale of this protest march seems to exceed a hundred thousand people. It looks like many people disagree with the coexistence plan I proposed between humans and vampires.

“Mr. Cross, Mrs. Cross, these people are despicable. How about I take action and kill a few of those in the lead to serve as a warning to the others?” Colin suggested.

Nathan shook his head. “These kinds of protest marches are said to be everywhere in Adrune. How many can you possibly kill? Besides, their opposition is intense. Using force to suppress them probably won't work, and it might even backfire.”

“I'm afraid it was deliberately instigated by those with ulterior motives, with many blindly following along,” Penny remarked.

Upon hearing this, Nathan's frown deepened.

He recalled the words of the elderly man earlier that most of these protest marches were led and organized by the Holy Knights.
