Salute to the General novel Chapter 3728

With an optimistic attitude, he personally came to report his recent battle achievements to God King.

Upon learning of his wife's death, the God King was eager to avenge her.

Their main army was now almost at the gates of Adversia.

Yet, his emotions inexplicable calmed down.

He listened to Dexter's report with a calm expression, then praised him, “Dexter, you've done well. These battles have demonstrated Gods' power and regained much of our lost honor.”

Dexter humbly said, “All of this is due to Your Majesty's wise leadership. I am merely carrying out your commands and dare not take credit.”

Medille said, “There's no need for modesty. Excessive modesty is hypocrisy. If it's your merit, it's yours. Once we win this war, you can drop the 'temporary' from your 'temporary Grand Marshall' title. From now on, you are second to one among Gods and superior to thousands!”

Dexter's eyes lit up. Unable to hide his excitement, he quickly said, “Thank you, God King.”

Medille said flatly, “It's too early to say thank you now. You must keep going still. Stay grounded and eliminate all enemy forces steadily.”

Dexter replied, “Yes!”

Medille stood up, leading Dexter and the others out of the temporary command post. He looked at the sky and the surroundings outside, before asking, “Where are we now, and how far are we from the city of Adversia?”

Dexter quickly said, “We're about to reach Rainbow Canyon. The scouts have reported that Hepburn is rallying her defeated troops and has called in a new batch of vampires. She's regrouping and preparing to wage war against us once again. All we need to do is defeat Hepburn once more, and the vampire army will likely lose their ability to fight completely. When the time comes, we will cross the Rainbow Canyon, besiege Adversia, and capture Nathan alive.”

Upon hearing this, Medille slightly furrowed his brows. He had a nagging feeling that something was off, but he couldn't quite put his finger on what it was.

Dexter noticed a change in Medille's complexion and quickly asked, “Your Majesty, what's wrong?”
