What?
The expressions on Lucius', Fermin's, and Lola's faces subtly changed.
They looked at Nathan curiously, wondering how he could be so powerful. How did he manage to numb Mentzer's arm with just a casual move, leaving the latter unable to move?
The three of them were puzzled. All they could do was chuckle awkwardly.
Then, Lucius took the lead by standing up and saying, “This time, we, the Four Emperors, have come to pay tribute to Your Majesty. So, it's not fair to only let Mentzer perform a dance for Your Majesty. The three of us should also join in and make a spectacle of ourselves!”
After saying that, he took the lead and stepped forward.
Fermin and Lola also followed suit and walked out.
The trio danced around Mentzer for a while, defusing his awkward situation.
Just as they intended to step back, Nathan had already tilted his head back and finished the drink Mentzer had just offered him.
With a smile, he said, “Mentzer just toasted me with a drink, and now it's only right that I return the favor. Each of you four should have a drink. Bring the wine.”
After saying that, he abruptly swept his hand to the side, sending several cups of wine on the table flying all at once.
Each glass of wine was like a cannonball, flying toward Lucius and the others respectively with devastating power.
Taken aback, Lucius and the other three quickly braced themselves before reaching out to catch the wine glasses.
The moment they did, they felt as if they had intercepted a cannonball. The impact sent them sliding back quite a distance before they could regain their footing. Meanwhile, a good amount of wine had spilled from the glass.
The four of them could hardly hide their astonishment, quickly saying, “We thank Your Majesty for graciously bestowing this wine upon us.”
After saying that, he hastily raised his glass and downed his drink, then slinked off to take his seat.
By this point, the four of them were utterly intimidated by Nathan. They dared not offend him anymore, nor did they dare to covet the Divine Realm anymore.
When Nathan saw Lucius and his companions return to their seats with dejected expressions, he knew that they were now frightened of him and they wouldn't dare to cause any more trouble.
With that, he instructed for the banquet to proceed.
Everyone continued to eat and drink.
When the banquet was coming to a close, Nathan excused himself early. He stood up and said, “Four Emperors and everyone else, I'm afraid I can't hold my liquor any longer. I'll retire for the evening, but please continue to enjoy yourselves.”
Everyone hurriedly stood up, each of them saying, “Farewell, Your Majesty.”
After Nathan left his seat, Max watched Nathan's retreating figure, deep in thought.
