Salute to the General novel Chapter 398

Terrence pursed his lips and said, "Nathan and Penny are small fry so how could they even pull this off? Besides, the Department of Justice usually conducts their investigations undercover for a couple of months and only arrests someone after getting sufficient evidence on their misdeeds. So, I guess they have had their eyes on James for a long time now and just arrested him today.”

Zucker nodded. "Thank God we only instructed him verbally to take Penny Smith down and we haven't given him any money yet. Thus, we won't be dragged into the mess."

Terrence said in a despondent tone, "I have a lot of connections. At first, I thought that I could get James out easily by reaching out to a few of my connections. But who knew, all of them said that the matter about James is way too serious and nobody dared to help him. It's pretty strange now that I think about it."

But Zucker was unconcerned about it as he replied, "James didn't get arrested because of us. Since his matter is serious and we can't get him out, then we'll just leave him be. We should focus our efforts on taking Nathan and Penny down and get our hands on the manufacturing rights for the liver cancer vaccine!"

Terrence nodded. "Yeah. We haven't had much progress so far. But the Cross Group's vaccine is about to be approved by the FDA soon and will enter the market not long after."

Zucker agreed and said, "Most importantly, Mr. Turner is getting impatient now. We have to take down Nathan and Penny before his patience runs out."

"What do you propose?" asked Terrence.

Zucker squinted and said, "Actually, Nathan isn't very capable on his own. Apart from his fairly good luck and the fact that he has Thomas Dunn as his subordinate, all he has is his background. He's from the North, so perhaps he used to be a soldier under Franklin Wilson and is still protected by him. However, now that Franklin Wilson is participating in the military exercise in the North, he won't be back for a couple of months at the very least. So, I propose that we should grab this opportunity when Franklin is away and destroy Nathan with a heavy hand.”

Terrence was a bit hesitant. "Even if Nathan is without support, he still has good fighting skills. Besides, the underworld of Channing is now under Thomas Dunn. If we want to kill Nathan in Channing, it'll be a near-impossible feat to pull off."

Zucker smiled and said, "I've thought about this too. I called Mr. Turner just now and asked for his help. He is sending us a terrifying executioner to help us kill Nathan."
