Grant Corporation.
I felt the solemn atmosphere the moment I entered the hall, and it seemed like everyone’s gaze was directed toward me. Not only that, each and every one of their eyes was full of fear.
They were fearful of losing their jobs.
I cast a firm look at them, hoping to ease their tension at the moment.
Yet I was the one who was even more nervous than them.
The tension in my heart slowly intensified after I got onto the elevator and watched as it climbed higher.
Beside me, Shannon inadvertently brushed against my cold fingertips, sensing my emotions.
Shannon took my hand, a smile creeping onto the corners of her mouth. It made me feel warm. "We’re here,” she said.
Just one simple sentence warmed me.
Marius also spoke up then, "Exactly. There’re so many of us here. We’ll support you."
"Thank you."
I looked at them and could not help the smile making its way on my face as I relaxed a little.
Shannon and Marius entered the conference room while I stood at the door for a moment, waiting. We had discussed this at the beginning.
The door to the conference room was shut tight and through the gap, I could see that it was full of people inside. Every one of the shareholders looked heavy.
I turned sideways and shifted my gaze to Theo.
It had only been a month, but his chin was much sharper now. His figure was also obviously thinner.
