Surprise was written all over Nibel's face. As intelligent as he was, he still did not manage to avoid Theo’s trap.
Sat in the chair in a daze, it was only after a moment did he slowly come back to his senses. He looked at Sylvester and then abruptly stood from where he was seated. Hands, trembling, he pointed at Theo and shouted, "You saw through it all from the beginning, didn’t you?!”
The corners of Theo's mouth turned up into a smile. “It’s more accurate to say that I’ve been on guard ever since the first day you stepped into Hatton,” Theo said lightly.
Head lowered, Nibel looked despaired as he grabbed his hair. "I planned this for so long. I started investigating you and understanding you even before I came to Hatton. I didn’t expect to lose in the end.”
"I know you’ve been investigating me. I just didn’t do anything about it because I wanted to know what you were planning. I finally understood your ambitions and intentions when you came to Hatton." Theo glanced at Marius.
The two of them…
I frowned. Was there some secret between Theo and Marius?
In the next second, Marius stood up. "President Grant knew that if he were the one to look into you, you would’ve found out it was him early on. So, I’ve been the one investigating you and then passing the information onto him so that he could get a grasp of your every move.”
No wonder their relationship had gotten better.
I turned to look at Nibel. "Mr. Nibel, you’re an excellent entrepreneur, but Theo is not an easy person to deal with. I think, if you can work with Grant Corporation sincerely, both companies can establish a foothold together in Whaldorf City.”
Even if Nibel refused to acknowledge reality now, there was nothing he could do. He could only acquiesce and sign the partnership agreement.
