Nibel lowered his gaze. He was probably filled with disappointment toward the Yards.
Sylvester spoke up before even waiting for him to reply, "When it comes to business, there are only benefits. Are you telling me you’re not using us, Mr. Nibel?”
Nibel went up to him when he said that. "You’re right, President Yard. Since this is the case, let's part with no hard feelings.”
Sylvester gave me a meaningful look before he left and walked out of the conference room.
What did he mean by that look…
I watched Sylvester's back as he left, only looking away once he was further gone. Somehow, something felt off.
Then, my phone rang.
It was a text message from Sylvester asking me to meet him when I was free and that he had something very important to tell me.
What else was there between him and me?
I could not think of this too much now. I put away my phone and refocused my gaze on Nibel.
"Why don’t you just stick with us, Mr. Nibel? Isn’t it cold up there at the top alone?" Theo reached his hand out to express his goodwill to him first.
Nibel was a very proud man and just when I thought he would refuse, he reached his hand out. "While I may not be that willing, a loss is a loss. Also, my signing this merger agreement now doesn’t mean that I won’t make another move in the future."
"I'm always available."
Their two hands came together and it looked like both their grips were pretty powerful.
Theo looked appreciative of Nibel.
The matter was resolved and the stone on top of my heart also rolled off. "If there is a next time, I hope you’d consider challenging me openly. It’s not so good to do everything in the dark after all.”
"Actually, whatever happened before were all the Yars’ ideas. They said we would be more likely to win that way. I didn’t quite accept that kind of behavior, but I was blinded. I would like to apologize to you here.”
