Chapter 272
Even someone as gutsy as Yolanda was breaking out in a cold sweat, her face white as a sheet.
“Remi, this has gotta be Lizetta’s doing. Hot Chili must be dancing to Lizetta’s tune, you can’t just pin it all
on her.”
Cassius was seriously worried that Remington might just choke Yolanda right there and then.
He stepped up to shield her a bit and tried to reason with Remington.
But Yolanda wasn’t having any of it. Anxious that Remington might unleash all his fury on Lizetta, she pushed Cassius aside and blurted out.
“Why wouldn’t a wife dare to tell her husband she’s pregnant? What’s that all about? Mr. Dashiell, maybe you should take a long, hard look in the mirror, huh? Who says it was all Liz’s idea, I also, mmph!”
She didn’t get to finish her sentence before Cassius clamped a hand over her mouth.
But at that moment, Remington was too preoccupied to squabble with Yolanda, storming out of the private room with a murderous vibe trailing behind him.
Yolanda, in a panic, shoved Cassius away. “Let go of me! How can you dump all the blame on Liz?”
“You’re biting the hand that feeds you, you know! I’m saving your butt here, or else you’ll be screwed! It’s their marital issue, and Liz is carrying Remi’s kid. What’s he gonna do to her? You better watch your own back, you dimwit!”
Despite Cassius‘ warnings, Yolanda was still worried sick. She fumbled for her phone to call Lizetta.
Cassius snatched the phone out of her hand.
“What the heck? Give it back!”
“No way! You do realize that tipping someone off only makes things worse!”
Yolanda was livid, chasing Cassius around the room like a headless chicken.
At the airport, in the waiting lounge.
“Ugh.”
Lizetta doubled over, bracing herself against the wall, retching into the trash bin again.
“Take a sip of water, it might help.”
Hogan’s soothing, concerned voice came from behind her. He patted her back gently and handed her an opened bottle of water.
Lizetta looked up, her face pale, and took a sip.
“Thanks, Hogan.”
“How come your morning sickness has gotten so bad all of a sudden? Were you like this before?”
Hogan, seeing Lizetta covered in a sheen of sweat, frowned with concern.
Lizetta shook her head, forcing a smile.
“I’m fine, really. I’ll be boarding in a sec. You don’t have to stick around, Hogan. You better hurry on.”

Chapter 272
After making sure she was seated, Hogan left for another lounge area at her insistence
There she sat, hand on her belly, her expression a mix of helplessness and sadness.
“Joy, do you know I’m leaving your dad? Are you sad for me?”
That day, after leaving the Dashiell family mansion, Lizetta had given the baby this nickname in the tar
She thought, from now on, it would only be her and the baby, side by side.
The baby was her joy, her source of energy
