Chapter 298
Lizetta felt a pit in her stomach, knowing all too well.
In Zion City, if Remington wanted to keep someone down, that person wouldn’t stand a snowball’s chance in hell.
Seeing Lizetta downcast and silent, clearly distressed, Evelina felt a surge of satisfaction and added.
“Liz, the beef between us grown–ups shouldn’t drag the kids into this mess. Our babies will get along just fine once they’re born. Don’t you want your little one to have an older bro to hang out with?”
Lizetta lifted her gaze and gave a cold, half–hearted smirk.
“Cut the crap, will you? You’re the one gluing yourself to me, calling me ‘sister‘ and now you want your kid to take after their mom and be shameless. Did you even bother to ask if they’re keen on picking up your acting skills?”
Evelina’s nails dug into her palm, but she managed a smile on her face.
“Why don’t you go home and ask Remington if he’d like the bun in your oven to call my kid elder brother?”
Evelina said this with confidence, her tone unwavering
She tilted up her chin, a triumphant and provocative glint in her eyes.
Lizella was sick and tired of having a sister like Evelina.
The thought of her own baby calling Evelina’s kid ‘brother‘ made her frown in disgust.
What’s the deal with Evelina’s kid?
Could they be a chip off the old block from the Dashiell family?
Aside from Remington, there’s no way it’s Lucian’s.
Zachary, the eldest son, and Zebulon, the second, were both Remington’s uncle’s boys, settled down with kids of their own.
And Steven, the fourth son and Shirley’s bro, well, he and Remington weren’t exactly tight.
If the kid belonged to any of them, it wouldn’t make sense for Remington to meddle or go through the trouble of keeping it hush–hush.
Just then, the elevator doors slid open.
Lizetta didn’t mull it over any longer, she couldn’t wait to get away from Evelina and stepped out of the elevator
But Evelina suddenly spoke up from behind, “Aren’t you supposed to be jetting off abroad, Liz? if I’m not mistaken, did Remington chase you down after finding out you were pregnant? He actually has a soft spot for kids. He named a star after my kid as a gift. I wonder what surprise Remington has cooked up for the little one in your tummy?”
Evelina’s words were a clear jab at Lizetta, implying that Remington didn’t love her and only chased her down because of the baby.
And of course, Lizetta hadn’t forgotten about the whole stap naming gift thing for Evelina.
Without pausing, Lizetta stepped out of the elevator and the turned back to Evelina,
“You’re really making a monkey of yourself with a thealousy, aren’t you? Thanks for the performance, though. Shame I didn’t bring my purse to tip you catch you next time.”
With that, she flashed a bright, carefree smile, waved her hand and walked away.
Evelina’s hands, tightly clenched, began to shake uncontrollably.
She glared at Lizetta’s retreating figure, her eyes filled with malice.
“Bitch! Me, jealous of that fake heiress? That’s a laugh. All she’s good for is getting knocked up to keep a man. No wonder she has the guts to talk divorce with Remington – thinking she’s got the upper hand with his spawt in her belly, playing hard to get. What a manipulative act!”
She would not stand by and watch Lizetta get everything handed to her!
