Chapter 304
Lizetta wanted happiness within her grasp, more than she ever had before.
She reached back, gripping Remington’s hand tightly, maybe a bit too much.
Remington paused, lifted his gaze with a quizzical eyebrow raise, “What’s up?”
Their eyes met, and Lizetta pressed on, “Remington, you’ve made it clear to your mom that the kid isn’t yours. Can’t you just lay it all out for me?”
Remington’s lips tightened, “is it that important? The kid isn’t mine, you know that. And the kid won’t affect our future.”
He frowned slightly, obviously reluctant to delve into this topic.
He couldn’t fathom why Lizetta was so insistent on getting to the bottom of this
The child wasn’t his, wouldn’t be living with them, and it wasn’t like he planned to keep it a secret forever.
Once the child was bom, she’d naturally find out
But Lizetta’s frustration flared as her nose turned red, “But the existence of that child is already affecting our lives! I’m your wife, Remington. If you expect me to accept your ex, Evelina’s child, you owe me an explanation, right?”
Her anger reignited at his evasive stance, and she pulled away from Remington, standing up to continue.
“Evelina, with her precious little bun in the oven, is stirring up trouble every day. Do you really think she’ll settle down once the child is bom? You want our kids to be siblings with hers, while Evelina haunts me like a relentless specter I can’t live like this, not for a single day. If you’re going to keep this up, Remington, please, just let me and Joy leave. I just want a simple, peaceful life!”
Her determination was unwavering, her love for Remington notwithstanding, she was tired and done.
That wasn’t the life she envisioned, nor the future she hoped for.
Having said her piece, Lizetta turned to leave.
Remington frowned, reaching out to grab her arm, pulling her back.
Lizetta, unable to control her response, staggered towards him. Remington sat at the edge of the bed, legs spread wide, effectively trapping Lizetta between them, immobilized.
“Get up! This is so annoying, don’t make me get physical!”
Lizetta gritted her teeth in frustration, but Remington grabbed her clenched fist, furrowing his brows
“Who told you Evelina was my ex? When did we ever have that kind of relationship? I must’ve missed the memo.
Lizetta froze, her mind blown, staring blankly at Remington.
“Weren’t you two together abroad?”
Remington had gone overseas for college at seventeen, and pot long after, Evelina’s family sent her over too.
During that time, with time differences and distances, Lizettä felt Remington drifting away.
