Chapter 309
The look on Remington’s face was a mix of frustration and resignation, something Lizetta hadn’t expected him to express in jest.
Feeling her cheeks warm with a blush, Lizetta strightened her posture and wrapped her arms around Remington’s neck, saying, “I had no idea it would turn out like this! If you had just been upfront with me from the beginning, how could I possibly not accept this child? Don’t worry. Remi. III keep this secret safe. And since you’re treating that child like a nephew and I’m your wife, I’ll definitely care for him with all my heart“:
Her expression was eamest, compelling Remington to break into a smile.
“Mrs Dashiell, you are so understanding and compassionate?”
Lizetta lifted her chin, “Of course, I am naturally a kind hearted angel”
Her playful gaze and the gentle curve of her eyes made her look all the mom charming
Remington felt he hadn’t seen her this relaxed and happy around him in a long time.
His heart fluttered, and with a slight curl of his lips, he teased.
and vibrant
“So, you’re agreeing to raise the child with me, Mrs. Dashiell. Does this mean you’re not considering divorce anymore?”
He wrapped his arms around her waist. “Let’s head to the city hall tomorrow and cancel the divorce application.”
Lizetta blinked, realizing Remington was quite the trickster.
He had skillfully steered the conversation away from divorce without her noticing.
How could he!
Puffing her cheeks, she retorted, “Dream on! You’ve upset me more times than I can count. I’m only staying temporarily because of Joy. and because your injury is somewhat my concern! Don’t think I’m easy to appease. Right now, you’re at most a probationary husband!”
“Probationary husband? Remington raised an eyebrow
Lizetta nodded, “You don’t know? It’s like being an intern at the Starlight Group. You have less than a month left in your probation. If you perform well, well see. But if you disappoint me during this period, Mr. Dashiell, you should know what happens next, right?”
At his silence, Lizetta squinted her eyes, “Any objections?”
Remington clicked his tongue. “Then, may I know what the probation criteria are, Mrs. Dashiell? Since it’s my first time as an intem, I could use some guidance.”
His eyes sparkled with amusement, letting her have her moment.
Lizetta couldn’t help but feel sweet inside.
Her cheeks reddened slightly as she put up a finger, “The criteria are simple, just one! Make. Me. Happy!”
Remington nodded, “Since it’s a probation, could I please get my offer from you, my boss?”
Lizetta paused
“What offer?”
Remington reached into his hospital gown pocket and after a momed, he opened his palm.
There, lying quietly, was a men’s diamond ring
Their wedding ring
Lizetta stared at the ring, her mouth agape in surprise, feeling a mix of sour and sweet emotions.
She looked up at him, “You said you threw the ring away!”
That day, in the car, he had clearly thrown the ring out of the window in front of her.
How could it still be here?
Remington offered the ring to Lizetta. “I didn’t throw it away.”
