Lizetta expected Hanna to mock her, but surprisingly, Hanna just frowned and then said, “Since you’re carrying Remington’s child and have decided to make a go of it, I am still your mother–in–law. You can call me ‘Mom, and I’ll respond” 

Lizetta pursed her lips, not wanting to make things too awkward, and said, “Mom.”
