Chapter 358
Lizetta felt his gaze cutting through her like a blade of ice, threatening to wound her very soul.
She gasped for air, locking eyes with him, her lips parting slightly as she spoke. “Have you told me about everyone you’ve met, everyone you’ve been with outside?” She thought she knew him through and through after all these years.
But what was the result?
She was like a joke, learning about his childhood sweetheart from Evelina’s lips.
He blamed her for not telling him, but had he ever not kept secrets from her?
He had been at the hospital with Stella since early morning, and now he had followed her here to stop her.
All because he didn’t want her joining the ballet company, worried about the Dashiell heir she carried, the life–saving child.
Had he ever truly cared about what she wanted, whether she was happy or not?
Lizetta’s heart ached, her teeth clenched tightly, her small face stubbomly tense as she stared down Remington.
Remington was on the verge of exploding!
He never knew she had this rebellious, tough side to her.
He coldly averted his gaze, fearing that one more look would make him lose control and pull her into his arms to spank her right there in front of everyone.
His gaze shifted towards Jerome, “Given our slight acquaintance, Mr. Madden, I’d appreciate it if you’d stay out of my wife’s affairs and step aside!”
Jerome responded with a light smile, “We may not be close now, but I believe we will get to know each other better in the future, especially since she’s joining the Madden Ballet Company. We’ll likely have many opportunities to work together.”
“Even if we become acquainted in the future, there are boundaries you shouldn’t cross, Mr. Madden. I assume you understand that much, don’t you?”
“Once she’s agreed, she’s part of the company. Mr. Dashiell, if she’s unwilling, I won’t let anyone take away a member of the Madden Ballet so easily!”
Remington’s handsome face darkened, and Jerome replied with equal gravity
The air seemed charged with the scent of gunpowder.
Seeing things escalate like this made Lizetta uneasy.
That was when Hamilton stepped off the stage and came over, standing by Lizetta’s other side, comforting her.
“Liz, don’t worry, don’t be nervous. Even if he’s your husband, he has no right to control what you want to do.”
Lizetta turned her head, managing a weak smile for Hamilton.
Watching her stand behind the Madden brothers, clearly opposing him, Remington let out a cold laugh.
“Let’s not forget, Mr. Madden, that the main venue for the ballet company’s performances is Zion City, and I do have some say there.” Remington was just short of outright threatening that without his approval, even if Lizetta joined the company and rehearsed diligently. the performance would never see the light of day.
Lizetta suddenly looked up, her eyes blazing as she stared at Remington.
She couldn’t believe he could be so cruel,
To stop her, he was willing to resort to such pheasums.
