Zoe’s POV
Helios struggled to open the door because of my height and without him breaking the kiss. I don’t want to cut this intense feeling that is growing between us, so I just let him do what he pleased at the moment. And when we got inside, he walked us towards his desk and let me sit.
His roamed around my shoulder down, on its way to my back, until it reached the side of my bum.
A moan slipped out of my mouth when his lips moved down to my neck. I closed my eyes and held onto his shoulder as his kisses moved down.
He was about to pull the tucked-in of my blouse when we both heard a knock on the door.
I gasped in horror and pushed him away, making him glare at me.
What? I mouthed and pointed to the door.
“Fuck,” I heard him curse before he fixed his hair so as his suit.
I saw the frustration on his face making me smile and bit my lower lip.
Wrong timing.
Whoever that person is, I’m sure, he or will receive Helios’s wrath.
Sorry, not sorry then. An incident like this can’t be avoided. So, I hope Helios will have control over himself.
And damn me because I let him get distracted.
But I wonder who wants to talk to him at this hour? It’s already time to go home. His employees worked from 8:30 in the morning until 4:30 in the afternoon. It’s already past five in the afternoon.
I jumped off the desk and fixed myself. I reached for the documents that I printed earlier and held them.
Other employees must not know that Helios and I share intimate feelings toward each other. We must not give them the slightest idea.
Helios looked at me once more before he opened the door.
“Helios, honey!”
I coughed when I heard that flirtatious voice, and my eyes widened when I saw the woman kiss Helios on the lips.
She fucking kissed him on the lips!
My grip on the folders tightened when the woman even encircled her arms around Helios’s nape.
When Helios turned in my direction, I averted my gaze and put down the folders in front of his desk, forcedly making a disturbing sound.
Guess I caught the woman’s attention.
“Oh, your new secretary is here. Sorry, darling. You have seen that” she said to me soon as our eyes met.
I smiled awkwardly. “Good day, Miss….” I paused since I didn’t know her.
“I’m Chloe,” she added.
I nodded. “Good day, Miss Chloe. And I just dropped some documents,” I said and walked towards their direction as they were blocking the doorway.’
I know Helios is trying to catch my gaze, but I never bother to look at him.
The bitch named Chloe smiled at me. I don’t even know if it’s real. She looks lovely and kind. I just don’t see what’s her relationship with Helios.
“She’s beautiful, Helios,” Chloe suddenly said when I got near them.
“When did you return?” Instead of answering, he asked her a question.
Return? It’s meant to say, Chloe came from abroad.
“Just this afternoon.”
That’s confirmed it.
“Why didn’t you call?”
Chloe laughed, making me slightly gasp. “Can’t you be sweeter, honey—”
“My name is Helios, Chloe.”
Chloe let out a chuckle, and it echoed in the four corners of Helios’s office.
“We should practice it. Besides, we’re going to get en—”
“Chloe, I’m tired, and I need to go home.”
“Great! Then let’s have dinner. I missed—”
“I will go straight home,” Helios interrupted, making Chloe frown.
Damn, I don’t know what to do. I am stuck.
“Ahem,” I hemmed and cleared my thought as I coughed slightly.
Chloe met my gaze and smiled. “Oh, sorry, sweetie.”
I smiled. “It’s okay, Miss Chloe. If you excuse me,” I said and walked into the small space.
Soon as I stepped out of the office, I never dared to look back. I got back straight to my desk and started to fix my things. Suddenly, I heard the door close. Maybe they’re already getting inside.
I grabbed my bag and walked toward the elevator. Guess Helios already found his future wife.
I let out a soft chuckle and entered the elevator. I pressed the closed button and pressed: 1.
Chloe holds the aura of an heiress, and Helios is a boss. And the owner of a large car company. Rich people are meant to be of the same race. She’s also beautiful and sophisticated. She seems like a model.
I clutched my chest when suddenly I felt my breath grip my heart.
What the hell?
So, what if they’re meant for each other?
I don’t love him. I like him, but I don’t love him. There’s a difference.
I shook my head as I hated what I was feeling at the moment.
I gasped when I felt the elevator stop. I exited and walked towards the exit. I saw the two guards again that stopped me during my first day. I smiled at them and waved my hand to bid them goodbye.
They waved back and smiled at me.
I was about to get a cab when suddenly a force pulled me, making me turn to face… “Helios?”
I frowned as I looked at him, panting. His chest moved up and down rapidly.
“What’s your problem—”
“Helios!”
I pushed him and forced him to let go of me. I sighed in relief when Helios let me go. I was walking near the road when I saw a cab. I waved my hand, and I rushed inside the moment it stopped.
I looked past through the window and met Helios’s raging gaze. I saw how he clenched his fist, and when Chloe snaked her arm into his, I looked away and smiled.
I told my old apartment address to the driver soon as he drove away from the building.
I closed my eyes as I leaned the back of my head to the headrest and clutched my chest to calm my heart.
What did I do?
Why did I act like that?
