Sold To A Billionaire novel Chapter 48

ZOE is staring at the two lines on the PT kit, and her hands are slightly shaking because she knows that Cindy’s anticipation was true.
Cindy walked towards her.
They were inside Zoe’s room. Right after they closed the cafe, Cindy bought a PT kit at the nearby drugstore and gave it to Zoe.
The pharmacist instructed Cindy to take the test early in the morning. However, Cindy was determined enough that it was positive.
“What was the result?” Cindy asked.
Zoe sat on the side of the bed and took a deep breath. Then suddenly, her chest started to move rapidly as her tears clouded her eyes.
Cindy sat beside her and caressed her back. “Let it out. I am here. I will listen,” she said.
Hearing this, Zoe cried even harder. She tried to control it, but her sobs slipped out of her mouth.
It was just seven in the evening, and as usual, the two old ladies were still working at the hotel and restaurant Grant until eight in the evening.
Cindy hugged Zoe and started comforting her. “I am just here, Zoe. Let it out.”
Zoe closes her eyes as she rests her head on Cindy’s right shoulder. “W-Why? Why it has to be at this moment…” she said faintly. Her voice is low.
Cindy caresses her back once again. “Sometimes in life… God will lead us to the hardest obstacles for us to be stronger than we are. I know God has a purpose,” she let go of her but held Zoe’s arms as she stared at her eyes, “you got this. I will never leave you. I will help you to talk to Helios. He must know–”
“No!” Zoe interrupted. She shook her head. “I pulled off my words. I will not let Helios know about my child–”
“His child too, Zoe,” Cindy cut off the hum of Zoe’s words.
Zoe shook her head once again. Her mind was clouded with many thoughts that she couldn’t even understand, and her heart thumped as if she was in a race and was trying to win.
“Zoe…” Cindy held her hand and pressed her palm to calm her, “Helios should know about this. What if this blessing will help Helios’s father to think about what’s best for his son?”
Zoe pulled her hands from Cindy’s grip as she wiped her tears. “W-We don’t know how ruthless the Lincoln family is. You knew about the rumor that Helios’s father murdered the President of the state?”
Cindy’s forehead knitted. “Of course, I heard about it. But that’s been the case for a long time. Besides, the result isn’t clear enough until it was buried.”
Zoe stared into Cindy’s eyes. “Exactly. It was buried, and we didn’t know the whole truth–”
“So, what are you pointing about, Zoe? This is not about Lincoln’s head’s past. It was your situation.”
Cindy wanted to help Zoe, but it seemed like the latter didn’t want to listen to any advice that she would give. She wished Zoe to be happy. She could understand how tough it was to be away from the one you love–by staying away from him.
Cindy clearly sees genuine love of Zoe to Helios. But the situation only hinders both of them.
“Don’t mind the reactions of others. The most important thing is your decisions and how you overcome these struggles. If you want to, let’s talk to Grant first and arrange–” Cindy didn’t finish her words when Zoe interrupted.
“What for? We can’t trust him, and I really hate the smell of his perfume,” Zoe said.
Cindy rolled her eyes and sighed. “Grant knew where you are, but why didn’t he tell Helios? Why didn’t he tell him about your whereabouts? Knowing Helios, who’s truly, madly, deeply in love with you, he will ask someone to investigate just to find you. And seeing Grant, who still feels at ease, lingering near us, I know that he’s helping us,” Cindy stated.
Silence filled in for a few moments. Zoe was put into deep thinking.
Cindy always has a point, but Zoe just keeps on ignoring it… which is a bad habit.
“Helios has the right to know. Don’t compare your life to movies or books where the woman runs away because she’s pregnant. Don’t be afraid and face your fears. And this will also be part of the test.”
Zoe frowned.
Cindy smiled. “It’s a test if Helios is really willing to marry–”
“Marriage is not in my plans at the moment, Cindy,” Zoe interrupted, making Cindy let out a soft chuckle.
“Whatever. As I was saying, it would be best, to tell the truth to Helios. And if he will accept you and the child without any further conversations, then you’re freaking lucky, girl,” Cindy continued.
“Lucky? I don’t think so,” she mumbled.
Cindy can’t help but roll her eyes again. “You’re full of negativity, Zoe. If only you see things beyond their masks, I swear you would know what’s the best answer. Helios is a billionaire. He can buy anything he wants–he can get anything he wants. But the thing is, he can’t have you. That’s why he’s putting so much effort into you. But you’re this killjoy who always declines offers or even shrank into where you are.”
Cindy shook her head. “You’re lucky. However, you can’t see it. It’s a shame that people give effort for you, but you can’t see it–”
“Easy to tell, Cindy. Yes, you can predict, you can foresee and certainly feel my emotions… but what if you’re in my shoe? I told you, they’re dangerous, and Helios is meant for Chloe–”
“Your negativity will cause you anxiety, Zoe. Don’t get blind. This is not just about love but for the sake of your child. Do you want him or her to grow up without a complete family? Helios loves you, and I know he will love your child as much as he loves you. So, don’t be a coward, Zoe.”

“WHAT’S the meaning of this, Helios?” It was Don Michael Lincoln’s booming voice that roared inside the kitchen hall.
They were having dinner when Helios told the old man about his plan.
“Why are you rushing? I told you to get engaged first with Chloe before you will take the throne–”
“Why prolong it, father? Besides, it’s even better to have the throne before the engagement–”
“Chloe told me everything, Helios. You can’t fool me. If you are eager to get the title, then I will arrange your engagement party tomorrow.”
Helios clenched his fist in rage.
“Why are you rushing–”
“That’s my final decision, Helios. Obey or else–” the old man didn’t finish his words when Helios pushed the chair back and stood up.
“I’m done,” he said and left.
The old man is calling out his name, but Helios seems deaf and doesn’t mind it. He dashed towards the entrance and entered his car. After a few moments, he sped away from his father’s mansion.
Helios dislikes his fucked up life because his father is trying to control him.
He has his own mind and can think about his own decisions. Why would his father need to overlay?
And the fuck with Chloe because he thought that the woman could understand him–what he truly feels, but she’s not. She’s also eager to marry him.
There’s no way that he will marry someone if it’s not Zoe. His heart belongs to Zoe only.
He grabbed his phone from the passenger seat and dialed Grant’s number as he drove along the highway.
He wanted to set up a fight in the underground at the moment. He wanted to let go of his rage.
“What’s up, dude?”
“Let’s fight,” Helios said, making Grant’s eyes widen on the other line.
“What are you thinking, dude? I still value my life. Find another sparring partner,” Grant said.
Helios’s forehead creased. “You have–”
“Dude, it’s already eight in the evening. I am also tired of work. Why don’t we just drink and chill? My treat?” Grant suggested.
However, Helios doesn’t want to drink.
“No. Let’s fight–”
“If you like, you can visit my hotel and restaurant in Cali. I have stocks of glass plates. You can throw them–”
“Are you making fun of me?” Helios asked, making Grant zip his mouth on the other line. “Meet me at Front street. Don’t worry. Just one round, Grant.”
Grant burst into laughter upon hearing Helios’s last words after he dropped the call.
One round?
Seriously?
Helios’s one round is equivalent to ten rounds. He’s also getting brutal if he tells about one round.
Grant knew that there was something wrong or had happened… that’s why Helios is looking for a fight.
After a few seconds of thinking, Grant called the guard of the underground gym at Front street.
Grant is not good at fighting, while Helios is so good at it. He wanted to escape, but he knew Helios.
