TEARS keep on pouring into Zoe’s cheeks while she lets Gun to dragged her… to a place she doesn’t know.
Grant walked to the side, and pity lingered in his eyes while looking at Zoe. Helios is a goddamn coward because he’s letting the one he loves suffer like this.
“I will fucking kill that Helios Lincoln!” Grant asserted as he walked faster.
Gun smirked. “Of course, let’s punish that punk!” he exclaimed and even chimed in with a devilish chuckle. Suddenly, he frowned. “Where the fuck did you park your car, Grant?!” he asked and glanced at Grant, who was ahead of them.
“You told me to park it at the end of the road—”
“Seriously? Are you using your brain? She’s freaking pregnant.”
“She can walk—” Grant didn’t finish his words when Gun interrupted.
“Carry her.”
Grant’s eyes widened and said, “What?!”
Amidst the darkness of the surrounding, the two can picture each of their reactions.
“Piggy-back ride, idiot!”
Grans stopped and looked at Zoe. “Come on—”
“I can walk!” Zoe yelled.
Gun arched his brow and grinned. “Then move faster,” he said.
Zoe wiped the tears that flowed down her cheeks and shot a glare at Gun.
“I can see your sharp gaze,” Gun uttered when he looked down at her since he was way taller than her. He has the same height as Helios. Even their body was alike.
“Tell me the details later, Grant,” Zoe uttered coldly.
Their steps were quick, and after a few minutes, they saw a black Jeep Wrangler. Grant walked towards the driver’s seat and started the engine while Gun opened the door at the back seat.
“Move.”
Zoe pulled her hand out of Gun’s grip. “I can manage.”
Gun didn’t respond and sat beside her. He closes the door, making Grant step on the accelerator.
Tears are still coming out of Zoe’s eyes, but she tries her best to wipe them away. She turned to Gun, and their eyes met.
Gun’s brows knitted. “What?”
Zoe pouted her lips and wanted to cry louder, but she couldn’t. She’s thinking about her baby’s health. She must not get stressed, but she knew that no matter how she tried to stay calm… in a situation like this, stress was the one that evaded her.
“Did you bring your vitamins, Zoe?” It was Grant.
Zoe frowned. “Your devil twin asked about it earlier. Why don’t you ask him?” She wiped her tears once again as she looked passed through the window.
Grant looked at Gun in the rearview mirror, but Gun just arched his brow and looked outside the window.
“Are they following us still, Gun?”
Gun crossed his arms in front of his chest as he leaned his head backward. “They’re gone. They just shove us away. Uncle is really ruthless, and Helios is useless,” he uttered.
Grant scoffed. “Indeed.”
“Then you two should just let me stay in California and never bother me anymore,” Zoe joined in.
Gun smirked. “We will not let Helios have you so easily. If he wants to fight for your love—if he really loves you, then he needs to get through us.”
Zoe frowned and looked at Gun. “What are you saying? I’m tired of running away—”
“This is for your own safety, Zoe,” Grant said.
Zoe laughed sarcastically. “Safety? I am safer if Helios cut ties with me. I can raise my child alone.”
“Oh, come on. I don’t want to hear any drama here,” Gun reacted.
Zoe couldn’t hold her rage towards Grant’s twin brother. She then slapped his shoulder, which surprised Gun.
“Are you nuts—”
“Liar. You fucking, liar!”
Gun raised his eyebrow, unbothered. “You’re welcome.”
Zoe’s forehead creased. “What are—”
“There’s an order from Helios’s father, and Gun saved your ass, Zoe,” Grant asserted. “If Gun didn’t come on time—”
“We tackled about the time. So, don’t make excuses, Grant. I will not buy it.”
Grant heaved a sigh.
“Aren’t you supposed to be crying because Helios choose to abandon you and will marry his fiancé—”
“Gunner!” Grant exclaimed.
Upon hearing Gun’s words, Zoe was rendered speechless.
“What?” Gun scoffed. “I am telling the truth—Fuck it!”
Gun’s curse echoed inside the car when Zoe slapped his mouth, and it hit his nose.
“What the hell is wrong with you?!” Anger lingers in Gun’s voice.
