Sold To A Billionaire novel Chapter 71

ZOE felt exhausted after a long trip. When they arrived at Gun’s penthouse, she got inside the room that was designated for her. She takes a nap for hours, and when she wakes up, it’s already nine in the morning.
She went to the kitchen to look for water, and soon as she climbed down, she saw Gunner, who was wiping his wet hair. When their eyes met, Zoe rolled her eyes.
“Good morning, sleeping ugly—”
“What did you say?” Zoe asked, a little bit furious.
Gun formed a sky smirk on his lips. “Say what?” he asked in a mocking tone. He walked towards the kitchen.
Zoe followed his track. If she can’t control her anger, she will punch the man’s face.
“You’re such a bully. D you know that?” Zoe blurted out as she walked toward the fridge. She opened it and grabbed a bottle of water.
Gun arched his brow. “Am I? Do you feel awkward—”
“I did, and it’s not healthy for a pregnant woman like me to live with a bully like you. What if my child—” Zoe halted when Gun spoke.
“Find a job to make a living, Ms. Levine. Do you think Grant will always be there for you?”
Zoe felt a sudden pang of pain in her chest upon hearing this. Her heart aches. Her grip on the bottle tightened.
She let out a sarcastic chuckle. “Don’t worry… I will adjust myself first to this new environment before I find a job,” she replied. “If you see me as a huge burden to you, you can close your eyes or better ignore my presence,” she added, and after that, she left the kitchen and went back to her room.

“Adjust the date of your wedding, Helios,” Mr. Lincoln said.
They are having dinner at a fancy restaurant, together with Chloe’s parents.
Helios knitted his brows while Chloe held his hand. “No pressure, dad,” she chimed in as she met the old man’s eyes, “…the wedding is only three days from now. So, there’s no need to move it. The wedding organizer is already prepared and settled everything,” she continued.
“Chloe is right, Michael,” Chloe’s father uttered. “What’s with the rush?”
Michael Lincoln sipped on his glass of wine. “Helios is not interested in the wedding and even dared to escape—”
“Do you have to say those?” Helios interrupted his father and even pierced his eyes towards the old man.
“Yes. I want you to learn a lesson—”
“Then, I’m done here. Excuse me,” Helios cut off his father’s words and left the table.
Chloe frowned. She had no idea what was going on. “Uhm… I will just follow Helios,” she said, and after that, she left.
Michael Lincoln shook his head in disbelief. “That son of mine is really a pain in the a-s,” he uttered.
Chloe’s father laughed. “Children nowadays are really a pain in the a-s.”
Helios pulled one stick of cigarette and lit it up. He doesn’t usually smoke, but when he is stressed out, he can’t help it.
“There you are!”
Helios frowned as he turned around and saw Chloe. The woman is approaching his side with a smile.
“Get back inside,” he said, cold and firm.
Chloe pouted her lips. “No,” she replied and walked closer to Helios.
Helios lifted his head as he blew the smoke. “Leave me alone, Chloe.”
“Why are you like that, Helios? Is this because of Zoe?”
Helios remained silent and continued to smoke.
“It was your father who wanted us to get—”
“Then you marry him.”
Chloe’s eyes widened upon hearing this. “Are you insane? Why would I marry your father?”
Helios’s forehead creased. “Call off the wedding.”
Chloe arched her brow. “Why would I? Everything has been settled already, and now you want me to call off our wedding?”
“I don’t love you. Chloe. You knew that,” Helios said as he threw the piece of cigarette in the bin. He put his hands inside the pockets of his pants and turned to face Chloe. “You knew whom I really love.”
Chloe let out a soft chuckle. “We’re already engaged, Helios. In three days, I will be your wife.”
Helios scoffed. “Don’t expect me to treat you like my wife. Don’t expect one big happy family when you are with me because you’re not the girl whom I want to spend the rest of my life with,” he asserted, and after that, he left Chloe dumbfounded.
