“YOU KNOW? I don’t know why you come here every day. Did you want to work as a waiter at our café or as a bodyguard to keep an eye on us?” Zoe asked Helios.
When she went downstairs early in the morning, she saw Helios again in their living room. So, she had to ask the man why he had to be there all the time.
“Good morning to you, my sunshine. And of course, to this beautiful young angel,” he added as he kissed Hela Selene on the cheek. She is currently holding her daughter. The little girl then reached out her arms to Helios. It looks like she wants him to carry her.
Helios didn’t want to let the little girl down, so he reached out and picked her up in his big arms.
Zoe thought, “Sunshine, my foot.” But deep inside, she was flattered by it.
Zoe doesn’t want to give him her daughter, but she realizes that the little girl also needs her father’s care. Even though she won’t admit it yet, it looks like fate is bringing them together.
“Can... can I carry her for a little while? You can keep up with some of your habits if you want to.”
“S-Sure. Thanks. I’ll be right back,” she answered.
“Take your time.”
Zoe gave her daughter to her father after that.
Father?
That sounds like a great idea.
The left side of her brain said, “Because it was.”
She went up to her room to take a bath and get ready. So, she plans to go grocery shopping today.
Her mom and aunt were actually on a trip.
Yes, they are traveling again.
She and her daughter were left with the servants and their bodyguards.
She came to the conclusion that Helios might be coming to the house all the time because her mother told him to.
Like they asked Helios for a favor again.
After all, whenever Helios is there, she feels at ease, even though there are times when she worries about what will happen next.
He runs a gang. This shows that he has enemies.
She’s not so stupid that she doesn’t know Helios is part of a dangerous group. Even though she knows about the mafia, she doesn’t want to ask any more questions.
Not yet.
She thinks that the time will be right. But what if they lose chances by waiting for the right time, like if Helios was dead at that time?
Helios will be in danger if he joins that group, and he may even die because of it.
Worse, they might join it if they find out that Helios really does have a daughter and loves someone, even though he knows that love is against the rules in the group because it could be their weakness.
She shook her head because she couldn’t get rid of the thoughts in her head.
Zoe rushed to take a shower, and as soon as she was done, she got dressed. Just as she was about to go down, her phone rang.
She answered, “Hello?”
“Sweetie.” On the other end of the line is her mother...
“Huh? When are you coming back?” she inquired.
“This afternoon, sweetie. How are your baby and you? Has Cindy come to see you?” asked her mother.
“Not yet, mom. But last night, she called. She has a lot to do. I can take care of myself and my daughter,” she said in response.
Cindy got a job in the city, so she quit the café for good. So, her aunt Millie hires people to work part-time.
“That’s good to hear. Where is Helios?”
She made a face. She knew her mother would ask about Helios, but why did she have to talk about him in such a roundabout way?
“Yeah. He’s early. Hela is downstairs with him.”
“Oh, so then what are you doing?”
“I just finished getting dressed, mom.”
“Are you off somewhere?”
“Yeah. She said, “Groceries.”
“Okay. Get Helios to come with you. Hela could be useful, so it’s best to have Helios with you. You know, spend some time with your family.”
She gave an eye roll. “Okay. Send Aunt my hugs and kisses. I’ll end this call now,” she said as she put the phone down.
It would look bad for her if she asked Helios for help. He can stay here and keep trying to find Hela. He also seems to feel a lot better when he is with her daughter.
When she got down from the tree, she saw Helios and his daughter playing on the floor. There was carpet on the floor. So, it’s all good.
She got the man’s attention by saying, “Hmm... Helios.” He then looked to the sky. She sputtered. “Can you first watch Hela?”
“Where are you going?”
“I’ll just go to the supermarket. We don’t have a lot of things in the kitchen or in the bathroom. And also, Hela’s stuff.”
“Is it hard to look after her by yourself?” He asked out of the blue.
“N-No— Yeah, sometimes, especially now that she’s starting to figure out how to do things like crawl, stand up, and eat some things. She wants to walk sometimes. But so far, I can handle her.”
The man nodded.
Zoe looked away. “No worries. I can deal with her. So... can you look after her while I’m gone?” She looked at him and asked.
He got up and picked up the little girl. “Sure—”
“Thank you—”
“—But we will be coming with you. Get her things ready,” he told her, and she was shocked.
“A-Are you sure? You... you want to come?”
“How can I not be sure? We’ll go with you.”
She just nodded and ran upstairs to get the things that belonged to the child that she would bring. She didn’t put a lot of stuff in her bag. She just put in wet wipes, alcohol, hand sanitizer, extra diaper pants, a milk bottle, and water.
She also sits in Hela’s seat when they go somewhere. She saw her daughter playing with Helios and laughing when she got to the bottom.
If everything had gone smoothly and there hadn’t been any problems, she would have been the happiest mother on earth, and her family would have been satisfied and whole.
If things between her and Helios hadn’t come to a head yet, she might be the luckiest mother on earth, with a cute daughter and a hot soon-to-be husband. Together, they will build and grow a beautiful family.
Helios asked, “Are you done?” and she said, “Yes.”
