Sold To A Billionaire novel Chapter 88

WHEN THINGS were all done, Helios started walking and Zoe followed him. He pulled something out of his right pocket while his left hand was holding their daughter—it was a key. He then tapped the button, and the light of the silver car parked in front of their house blinked twice.
It's an Audi S5. A luxurious car that cost a bunch of fortune. A family he will build is so damn lucky. Zoe hopes that it's her whom he wants to share the rest of his life.
"Nice car," she exclaimed. But the guy has no response.
She opened the door at the back seat and put down the carrier. Helios then put Hela inside and adjusted the child's seatbelt.
"She has stuff like this?" the man asked suddenly and talked about the carrier. Zoe then nodded. "So, I'm concluding that you will accompany me in front?" he asked and let out a playful grin.
'Damn!' She's afraid that the man was right. Why did she bring it if she could just carry the little girl?
"A-Ah, of course. Besides, it would help if you didn't treat me like your mere driver. But it's also fine with me if you don't want me to sit by your side, right?" she said, trying to hide embarrassment.
Helios let out a soft chuckle. "That's not what I meant."
"Whatever."
She closed the door in the back seat and walked toward the passenger seat. When she sat down, she slammed the door.
Helios turned around and sat in the driver's seat. He shook his head because of Zoe's sudden mood swings.
"So, where do you want to do your grocery?"
"Unknown Mall," she replied.
Helios nodded and started to speed away. He looked at the side mirror to ensure that his men were tailing them. He needs to secure their safety as possible.
"Do we really need guards when going out?" Zoe asked when she glanced at the SUVs that were following them.
"We have to," he answered.
"The closer you get to us, the more you will get in trouble," she said, but her gaze was still on the road. "Don't you remember what happened to me before? Please don't let my daughter get involved with any danger."
"I promise that you are all safe."
"Promises are meant to be broken, yet I'm counting on it. I just want a peaceful life with my daughter. So please, don't let us be the payment of your involvement."
"I won't," he replied.

WHILE WALKING inside the mall, some were looking at them. Well, they look like a family. A family of a royal one. How Helios carries her daughter seems so magical. Like he was the real king of the family while his princess was securely wrapped in his hands, protecting her. Indeed, he was the father.
Zoe is an epitome of a queen who was deeply in love with the king. Indeed, she was in love, yet things are still complicated.
Zoe grabbed a pushcart while Helios and her daughter followed. She took only the goods needed and put them in the cart. The queue inside the grocery was not long, so she finished having groceries quickly. She was just a bit pissed because Helios insisted on paying for her groceries. She doesn't want to pick a debate with the man because they were in public. So, she just agrees with it.
They're on their way out when Helios suddenly asks, "Are you hungry?"
"Nah," she replied.
"You are angry, then? Because I insisted that I'll pay for it?"
Zoe rolled her eyes, and Helios caught it. She crossed her arms. "What do you think?"
"You are, but it is just me helping a friend," said Helios.
Friend? 'Yes, a friend! Just a friend,' she thought.
She felt a sudden pang in her chest. 'Friend, huh? Okay, let's spend all your money,' said the corner of her mind.
"If I'm going to buy a house, are you going to pay for it? Is that what you mean by helping a friend?" she asked sarcastically.
"Yes. Of course, if that's what you want. Then I'm going to buy you a house."
Zoe was surprised by his reaction. Seriously? She just laughed sarcastically. "Nah, I'm just kidding. Let's take a meal in Jollibee, right, Hela?" she asked her daughter, and the little girl giggled.
They were going down the escalator when she saw someone. Her eyes widened when that someone grinned and winked at her. She gulped and looked at her daughter, who Helios carried, and then she returned her gaze to that man. Her heart started to thump fast when the man gestured a handgun and mouthed 'bang.'
"Are you okay?" asked Helios.
Zoe looked at Helios and just nodded. When they reached the first floor, she closed her eyes to calm herself. On her side were their five bodyguards. At the same time, the other men stayed in the parking lot.
She turned back again to where the man had been before, but he was no longer there, which made her more nervous.
Why does that man seem to want to kill her? But she knew that it was because of Helios.
They're targeting her because of Helios.
