Still Wanna Escape After Stealing My Heart? novel Chapter 1171

He still had to pay compensation to his ex-wife. He was sentenced to eight months in prison, and because he had to compensate her for her loss, the little money he saved up for his mother, and the five thousand dollars she saved for more than ten years were all given to his ex-wife.

In his eight months in prison, his mother wandered around outside prison, living off of the goodwill of strangers, often starving for days. After enduring such a life for eight months, when Noah was released from prison. His mother weighed less than eighty pounds then. Both mother and son were completely broke, without a single penny to their names. Most importantly, no one was willing to hire Noah even when he went job hunting, saying he was a murderer who caused his two sons' deaths, and a scumbag who hit his wife. Just like that, after being released from prison, Noah and his mother starved for three days without a single bite to eat.

Later, he ran into his ex-wife. His handicapped wife started hitting him the moment she saw him, scolding him as she punched him. Toward the end, she cried and said to the curious onlookers, "Even though I'm handicapped, I gave birth to his son and raised him. Still, he punched me so hard that I lost a few of my teeth."

At his ex-wife's words, the passersby enveloped him i

n a wave of accusations. With no other choice, Noah carried his mother on his back, and gradually moved t o more and more remote areas, all the way till they arrived in this piece of forest deep in the mountains. Noah picked some wild fruits and berries for his mother to temporarily fill her tummy. As he was carrying his mother on his back and wanted to look for a cave to spend the night in, he saw this stone hut.

Noah could not care less who the hut belonged to, he and his mother both stayed on in this hut. He stayed o n the mountain, chopping up firewood every day, plucking vegetables and fruits, and hunting wild animals for food. Sometimes, he would hunt a pheasant and sell it in the town at the foot of the mountain for some money, buying themselves some clothes or bed sheets. It was a simple life that they lived.

His mother's weak body recovered slightly, but years o f hard labor now left the 70-year-old woman with no ability to survive. Nevertheless, his mother still reared some chickens, ducks, and geese outside the stone hut. These could also be exchanged for some money.

More than half a year passed since Noah and his mother moved to stay in the mountains. Surprisingly, they managed to save more than a thousand dollars. They could not bear to spend the money on good food for themselves, instead, in the night, Noah would hunt for some pheasants or geese, meat of the sort. Sometimes when he failed, he would even catch snakes.

Just like that, he got a lucky hit and scared away the goons who wanted to kill Jane with several snakes, thus saving her life. Initially, Noah thought his life was tough enough as it is. But when he listened to Jane’s life story he could not help but sympathize with her. Not only that, but Jane also felt that Noah had led a tough life. Wasting twenty years of his life, all for nothing. At that moment, a man in his early forties, and a thirty-five-year-old woman, both experienced the cruel realities of life.

The man was rough, with a single glance you could tell he grew up in the mountains. On the other hand, even though Jane was currently in such a desolate situation, but with one look, Noah could tell she lived a soft, and pampered life. Her skin was fair like the first snowfall in winter, and as soft as the most expensive silks. Her complexion looked clean and healthy. This woman was very gentle, still as innocent and pure as a child. It was extremely rare for a woman of her age to maintain such a personality. She was a far cry away from Noah’s handicapped, calculative and shrewd ex-wife, the one who cursed him for being an ungrateful bastard and at the same time, nicknamed him Honest Noah behind his back.

"Will...will you head north with me? My home village i s in the mountains too, but I have a few plots of land." Noah looked at Jane gently. 1

Jane nodded. "Yes, I...I would love to!"
