Sabrina froze for a moment. Instinctively, she thought that Marcus might want to take her to see the old Master Shaw. She rejected him politely. "I'm sorry, Director Shaw, but if you want to bring me to your grandfather, then I..."
To her surprise, Marcus denied the notion decisively." I'd never! The way my grandfather has hurt you has caused me to resent him as well, so I would never force you into meeting him."
Sabrina smiled in response. "That's good. Thank you, Cousin Marcus."
"Are you willing to refer to me as your cousin?"
"Haven't you been seeing me as your cousin right from the start?"
"Of course!" Marcus beamed.
"Where are you taking me?" she asked.
"Come, I'll take you there now!"
Sabrina remained still. "Is...it something important? M y work is piling up and you know that if I fail to complete my tasks, it would affect the others in the department as well."
Marcus grinned. "Right, I forgot about it. My cousin Sabrina has always been careful with her job. It's lucky that our firm has an employee like you. Well,
let's go during your lunch break then."
She nodded. "Mm-hm, okay."
With that, she went ahead and entered the elevator. She wasn't that curious about what Marcus had to say. What mattered most to her at the moment was her work, which had been delayed due to the previous conflicts with the old Master Shaw and the time they spent looking for Jane. Tomorrow would be the start o f the weekend so everything had to be rushed to completion within today. After entering her office, Sabrina began to emerge herself into work. Luckily, her assistant, Ruth, required little to none support. Ruth was becoming increasingly efficient and was quick to learn. Over the entire morning, she managed t o deliver Sabrina almost anything she needed. On top of that, Ruth even drafted a few designs that Sabrina had thought of, but didn't have time to work on yet.
