The receptionist nodded. "Okay!"
Just as the two were gossiping, Sabrina had pushed o n further. Her heels hit against the floor in a steady, slow and rhythmic pace that sounded like the steps of a woman who worked in high management with considerable power within the Ford Group.
Footsteps that sounded like that had Lori, who was sitting in Sebastian's office at the time, feel even smugger than ever. She could tell that a female employee was walking toward Sebastian's office and, judging from the sound of it, the female employee must have a high position. Announcing her presence t o a female employee at the appropriate time was exactly what Lori had planned for.
"Director Ford, you have studied my proposal for over a n hour now. Shouldn't you give me a precise answer b y now?" Lori sat across Sebastian with her torso leaning forward, and the deep V-neck of her top became even more revealing.
She did not look like this when she first came in. She came in with a seersucker scarf wrapped around her neck, which covered most of her skin.
Lori pretended to be surprised as soon as she opened the door to Sebastian's office and exclaimed shyly," Director Ford, it... It's you?"
Sebastian looked up to stare at the woman before him before asking emotionlessly, "You are the client that Marcus referred to us?"
Lori gave him a brief smile. "I'm sorry, Director Ford, but it's our company policy that representatives like u s must not leave poor images in any way. I... The last time I saw you, my daughter had stepped on your shoes and I squatted down to wipe your shoes for you. You said that I was... That I was annoying." 1
"What are you trying to say?"
"I meant to say that, if you dislike me, I can turn around and leave right now and have our company send someone else over..."
