Still Wanna Escape After Stealing My Heart? novel Chapter 385

Sabrina had only wished to bargain her way into an increment of two thousands, so it was entirely beyond her expectation that she was offered five thousands instead. But in truth, she would prefer a less toxic environment if she was to stay.

"I accept, Director. But I have a condition," she said. "I n o longer wish to work for Linda, I want to be her supervisor. Anything she does will have to go through me. Is that something you can arrange?"

It wasn't that Sabrina wanted to bully Linda. She realized as soon as she entered the company on the very first day that Linda was brilliant in her designs when she was reviewing Linda's blueprints, though she approached designing with a style that differed from Sabrina.

Sabrina was aware that the only way to grow was to absorb whatever experience she could from others, and the best way to do so was to ensure that she had access to all of Linda's designs.

"I can take back my request for the ten thousand," seeing that the Director was remaining silent, Sabrina added, "if we are going to be colleagues, it would have been normal for me to help, so there wouldn't be a need for remuneration."

"Yes, yes, that would be wonderful. I will arrange for Linda to be your assistant from today onwards," the

Director immediately agreed.

"Okay, thank you." Satisfied, Sabrina switched to a more humble tone. "Well then...should I go back to work? Do I head back to the same workstation?"

"No, you are one of the head designers now, so you need to exchange work stations with Linda. You can g o on ahead and take your seat at Linda's station first. I'll need to contact Human Resources to give them a heads up, I will head over later to have everything sorted out for you."

"Yes, Director. I'll get going now, then." Sabrina stepped out of the Design Director's office and as soon as she arrived before the doors of the Design Department, she could hear the heated debate from inside the office. More precisely, it was the few women inside that were gossiping about Sabrina. The architectural design field consisted of mostly men, therefore there were not many women in the industry t o begin with. Regardless, wherever there were women, dramas ensued.

The women in the office were furious over what had happened to Linda. "Who does she think she is! I can say for sure that Sabrina is taking this as an opportunity to ruin you!"

"The Director seems to think that she has experience o r something, but frankly, those so-called experiences are just things she saw from spending all day at construction sites. She is not cut out for being a designer, she is just a construction worker!"

"God knows what she did to get Master Ryan so into her. He had promised to take Linda to dinner and now he wouldn't even look her way."

"What a skank! She is a skank by blood!"

"Hey, you girls are going too far." One of the male colleagues stepped in and interfered. "I personally think Sabrina is not bad of a person. She is quiet and stuck to her duties. Didn't she help Linda Beauty to solve the issue? You shouldn't be talking about her like that."

"Yeah, I think so too. She is just an innocent shy little girl."

"I agree, she's my type."

Further provoked by the fact that so many men were backing Sabrina up, Linda slammed her hand onto her desk in fury and cursed, "Sabrina better run after taking that ten thousand dollars from me! If she dares to show up at work here ever again, I am going to make sure she suffers-"

"Linda." Sabrina's voice came from behind her and interrupted what she was going to say. "Please clear u p your desk. This is going to be my work station from now on."
