"Where is Aino, Aunt Lewis?" Sabrina paced into the kitchen to find Aunt Lewis cooking a stew.
"Mrs. Ford, why didn't you sleep a bit longer?" Aunt Lewis smiled gently at Sabrina and explained," Assistant Yates had taken the little princess with him this morning under Master Sebastian's orders. He said he was going to take the little princess to the amusement park. The little princess was so excited for it when she headed out, she specifically asked that no one disturb her mommy in her sleep."
"Oh...thank you, Aunt Lewis." Sabrina grinned in relief. Aunt Lewis's words reminded her that Kingston
seemed to have mentioned that Sebastian would be taking her to take driving lessons, which naturally, Aino would not be able to follow. Regardless, she felt assured that it was Kingston who was taking care of Aino.
After the meal, Sebastian took Sabrina to the driving school they had gone to before. They arrived at the school close to dusk, whereas this time they had arrived early before noon. Despite being the weekend, Sabrina was surprised to find the school empty with only a few staff including the headmaster, finance assistance and two to three trainers.
She watched as Sebastian handed a pile of cash over t o the finance assistant and it had become clear that
the headmaster was reluctant to take it.
"Take it already!" Sebastian barked.
The headmaster obliged and gestured for his finance assistant to take the money from Sebastian. Upon closer inspection, it was a total of twenty thousand dollars!
'What kind of driving lesson cost this much money?’ she thought. Sabrina started looking around frantically at every corner of the school, as the headmaster stepped into the office to prepare a receipt for Sebastian. Finally, she whispered to Sebastian, "I...I don't want to take driving lessons here."
"Why? I've already paid," he said.
"You didn't even...talk to me about it before paying," Sabrina insisted. "Besides, why would you just go ahead and pay without checking the place's condition?"
"Huh?" Sebastian was truly confused at the moment a s he gazed down at a hysterical Sabrina, which was rather rare considering that she was usually a composed person. What was going on?
"Just look around you, there are only about four to five people including the headmaster, the finance assistant and the trainers. Don't you think it's weird that there isn't one student for a place this remote and spacious on a Sunday. The trainers are practically sitting on their thumbs. The driving schools I have been to before always have at least ten students following each trainer, taking turns to learn. This place is clearly deserted, which means it has a bad reputation and the trainers aren't skilled properly. What makes them think they can charge twenty thousand with a reputation like that?" she explained. Sabrina had been poor since the age she could remember, so she instinctually contemplated each penny spent and twenty thousand for a license was something she simply couldn't accept. Sebastian did not respond to her, but instead looked at her with an expression as though she had said something extremely odd. 1
"What...what is it?" Sabrina muttered, and he scoffed.
It was precisely at that moment that the headmaster had returned with the receipt and handed it to Sebastian deferentially. "Here you go, Master Sebastian."
"Excuse me, headmaster." Taking this as her chance, Sabrina asked the headmaster, "why aren't there any other students here for their driving lesson today?"
"Mrs. Ford, we wouldn't dare allow others to enter the premises with Master Sebastian and you here," the headmaster answered gingerly. "We have cleared the place as soon as we learn that you are coming, as per Master Sebastian's request." 1
"Cleared..." Sabrina was instantly dumbfounded.
