Sabrina did not waver at the old Master Shaw's ferocious roar. She simply looked at him calmly with sorrow beyond description in her voice as she responded, "So I'm guessing that the old Master Shaw has something on me, then? You wouldn't have the nerves to be this forceful otherwise, would you?"
"And I am guessing you already know what I have on you?" he deadpanned.
"No, I don't, actually."
What could he possibly do to hurt her? What a joke! Even if he claimed to have proof, it could only be fabricated. It wasn't the first thing someone tried to frame her for something she didn't do, it happened so often that Sabrina had gotten used to it. Quoting a famous movie star, 'all pain is tolerable when it becomes a habit'. Indeed, pain had become her constant companion.
"Sabrina Scott, you vixen! I'll have to admit that you are resourceful! Not only did you enslave the hearts of Nigel Conor and my Marcus, you were the reason why that Smith boy went missing! Apart from that, you managed to crawl your way into Sebastian's heart as well. We can only blame ourselves for underestimating your capability. However, schemes are just schemes at the end of the day, Sabrina, no matter how perfectly you thought you had executed
your plots, there is bound to be loose ends! Though Sebastian is under your spell, his parents, his grandfather and I can see perfectly fine! Sabrina, your spell won't work on us!" the old man shouted, his tone righteous and furious. He sounded like had been holding in his anger towards Sabrina for a very long time.
Meanwhile, a little figure with her face flaming red, watched as the old Master Shaw insulted her mother. Aino breathed heavily in frustration. She rested her hands on her hip and gritted her teeth, wishing desperately that she could tear the old man's nose off, when suddenly, an idea hit her. She turned around to look at Kingston.
Kingston, too, was fuming at what was happening. The past few months with Mrs. Ford and the little princess had proved how much he adored Aino. And now, Kingston couldn't help but worry about whether witnessing how the old Master Shaw treated her mother would be a traumatic experience to the little princess. Although now that he had met the little princess' eyes, he realized she wasn't intimidated by the situation at all.
"Uncle Kingston." She winked mysteriously at Kingston.
"Let's go out, little princess. Uncle Kingston will take you out to play," he immediately responded. He had handed his cousin Yvonne over to Marcus, anyway. With Master Sebastian here, no one in this entire hall would dare to touch a hair on Mrs. Ford, Yvonne and Ruth, so there was no need to worry. Aino slipped her hand into Kingston's palm and the two quietly snuck out.
Right before they stepped out the door, Kingston heard Sabrina's calming voice from behind. "Very well then, please present your proof. What exactly was I lying about?"
"You want proof?" Old Master Shaw's voice echoed throughout the hall.
Everyone turned to look at old Master Henry, who had not spoken a word so far. He sat quietly in the middle o f the hall and remained silent the entire time despite the chaos that erupted within the hall. In the past, the old Madam Ford would participate whenever there was an important family gathering, but this time she was nowhere to be seen. Old Master Henry stared dispassionately and asked, "Before showing the proof, I want to ask you a question. Do you love my grandson?"
Taken by surprise, Sabrina found herself at a loss of words. How should she respond to this? Did she love Sebastian?
Six years ago, she had been obsessed with the man who took her 'first time'. She hadn't seen his face then, and was convinced that the man had passed, so she forced herself into eradicating all thoughts about the man from her mind. Fast forward to the months she spent with Sebastian, she realized that she was developing feelings for him because he reminded her o f her first love.
