Ruth shuddered, as if she could sense the pair of eyes behind stalking her.
"What's wrong, Ruth?" Sabrina asked with a concerned look.
Ruth simply smiled, "I just felt a cold breeze blow against me. Maybe it's because I wore too little out today, since I wanted to look pretty, haha."
Sabrina smiled back and said, "You do look beautiful today."
"Thank you, but it’s all thanks to you."
Even though Ruth was used to wearing expensive clothes, she was still extremely grateful to Sabrina for the clothes she had bought her.
After all, her clothes were mostly hand-me-downs from Mindy that either didn't fit her or that she didn't like anymore.
Unlike Sabrina, Mindy would never bring Ruth shopping or give her a chance to pick out the clothes she liked.
At the thought of this, Ruth started to wonder if she had been blind in the past. How could she have resented Sabrina so much, scheming various tricks and plans to entrap her, when she was such a nice girl, one that was truly loyal to her friends.
Who else in this world would buy her friends a trunk-load full of clothes, without a single complaint or any regard to the price?
From her estimation, the clothes that Sabrina had bought her probably cost tens of thousands of dollars.
Ruth loved and cherished every single piece, even if they weren’t actually very expensive. The outfits may have been priced at no more than a few hundred a set, and the shoes only two to three hundred, but to her, they were heartfelt and priceless gifts from Sabrina.
Today, she picked out a set of work clothes from her haul, something that was not too fancy, but would make her look clean and capable.
Besides Sabrina, Yvonne and their other colleagues had also complimented her outfit as she stepped foot into the company.
Naturally, Ruth was all smiles.
"Is he... treating you well?" Sabrina suddenly asked. She was in a relationship herself, so she was definitely more experienced than Ruth in this regard.
