Sweet Mischief's Rollercoaster Romance novel Chapter 18

She had no idea that ever since they returned to Cedillo Mansion, Andre's gaze was fixed on her.

"Andre, I helped you out today, and you did the same for me. So, we're even-steven now, right?"

She made her point loud and clear, then cheerfully hopped up the stairs, taking two steps at a time.

Andre kept watching her until she was out of sight.

Jillian's eyes were glued to Andre. She had seen for herself how Mia was all he could see. She was green with envy.

She deliberately played the damsel in distress, tugging at Andre's sleeve, whimpering, "Andre, you're finally back."

"Been drinking today?"

Jillian saw the cold look in his eyes and thought he didn't like seeing her drunk. She quickly shook her head, "No, if you don't like me drinking, I swear I'll quit."

Andre glanced at the empty staircase, then turned around and said, "Let's go have a chat."

Jillian followed him gleefully.

Once they reached a balcony, Andre made Jillian a cup of coffee. He politely placed it in front of her.

Seeing Andre suddenly being so polite made Jillian uneasy. She asked, "Andre, what is it that you want to tell me?"

Andre said coldly, "Stop wasting your time on me. My feelings for you are purely gratitude. If we were meant to be together, we would have been by now." His words were blunt and disregarded her feelings. "You're of marriageable age. Try to get to know someone suitable."
