Sweet Mischief's Rollercoaster Romance novel Chapter 575

After finishing his drink, he grabbed a glass of warm water and brought it to his petite wife's lips. Mia, too lazy to reach out, simply drank directly from the cup he held to her mouth. Their little one, having quenched his thirst, turned his head curiously to watch his mom drink. Everything in the world was a new wonder to him.

The computer screen displayed ongoing surveillance footage, but Andre let his wife and child amuse themselves as he finally dived into his work. To avoid disturbing her husband, Mia scooped up their little bundle and headed to the lounge. She laid him on the bed and playfully tapped on his bottom lip, "Did you cry today, causing a fuss and giving Daddy a hard time?"

The little guy looked up at his mom, responding with some gurgles. "Are you our little troublemaker? Did Daddy spank you?" More affirmative gurgles followed. "Really? He did?" As the baby waved his limbs around, Mia muttered to herself, "Is that how Daddy spanks you? Could Andre really bring himself to do it?" The little one let out a loud "Ah!" as if eager to tarnish his dad's reputation. Mia burst into laughter, "Andre’s that bad, huh?" "Mmm-hmm," the baby confirmed.

Outside the office, Andre leaned back in his chair, watching the screen, blissfully unaware that his own son was smearing his name. Soon, the meeting wrapped up, and he closed his laptop. Leo walked in and immediately asked, "Uncle, where’s your son?" Mia emerged from the lounge, cradling the little one, "Look at you, Leo, running the show at the meeting today. Not bad, not bad. Looks like we've got another little boss growing up in the family."

Leo couldn't help but swear, "Damn it, if it wasn’t for your son’s tantrum causing a ruckus today, it wouldn’t have been my turn... Sorry Aunt Mia, my bad." Leo’s mood shifted rapidly, all because his formidable uncle had just appeared beside him. Andre simply walked over to his nephew, who instantly cowered at his approach. Andre was quite pleased with his intimidating presence. Mia's laughter grew louder. Leo, not one to be easily outdone, shot Mia a look and scooped the baby from her arms, muttering, "Taking advantage of your position."

"Say that louder if you dare." Leo, cradling the child on the couch, teased, "Why aren’t you crying now? You had plenty of fight in you earlier. Come on, cry for your brother. Let me tell you, Henry, because of you, your brother had to... Holy smokes! Mia, your son just spit up!" From the office, Leo’s roar echoed. The freshly fed little one, startled by his brother’s shouting, began to cry out of fright. "Waaah~ Waaah~" The baby’s cries seemed like an appeal to his parents, as if complaining about his brother’s scare tactics. Mia, amused by the sight of her son's 'blessing' on Leo, laughed so hard she almost forgot her baby was crying. Andre looked at his unfortunate nephew with a mix of sympathy and the urge to laugh.

Eventually, it was daddy Andre who took the baby from his nephew’s arms, passing him a tissue with a smile. Leo, cursing under his breath, took the tissue to the uncle’s lounge. Once the little one calmed down from crying himself out in his father’s arms, Leo emerged, looking disgusted. Lunch was served in Andre’s office, with Leo sharing details of the meeting while eating half-heartedly but with undeniable competence. Mia, while eating, listened to the conversation between the two men.

"Honey, how come I understand every word when they're alone, but when put together, I can’t make heads or tails of it? Am I losing my smarts?" Andre added a piece of steak to his wife’s plate, "Eat up, you’ll get it back." He continued the conversation with his nephew, "Do you know the history between the Walker family and our Cedillo Group?" "Aren’t they our competitors?" "Not quite," Andre corrected. "It’s more like a game of chess." Mia focused on her meal, eating heartily but listening with less enthusiasm.

In the afternoon, Andre caught up on his morning's work before he and Mia, along with their son, drew the curtains in the lounge and fell into a deep, undisturbed sleep. Upon returning home, Andre finally saw his wife’s spoils from her shopping spree. As soon as Mia mentioned her daytime shopping finds, she dropped their son and crouched by the bags, pulling out a men’s shirt, "Honey, try this on~" Her eyes sparkled with anticipation and shyness as she looked at her husband. Surprised, Andre raised an eyebrow at his bashful little wife, "You bought something for me too?" Mia shoved the shirt into his hands and then gently pushed him, "Go try it on in the dressing room."

Andre stood his ground, "Why the dressing room? It’s not like you haven’t seen me before." He began undressing right there. He examined the shirt his wife had chosen and didn’t skimp on the praise, "I didn’t know I married a woman with such great taste. I love the shirt." Mia beamed at the compliment. Excited, she eagerly offered, "Let me button it up for you."

Once dressed, Andre complimented again, "The fabric feels comfortable, and it fits perfectly." "Right? I’m telling you, honey, this is the first time I’ve bought men’s clothing. The moment I walked into the store and saw this shirt, I knew you’d look dashing in it. Plus, I compared several before choosing this fabric because it’s really soft to the touch and won’t wrinkle, even when you’re holding our son." Mia chattered on excitedly, her admiration for her husband evident in her eyes. Andre listened patiently, smiling at his little Mia’s enthusiasm. His gaze was filled with love.

Pointing to a large bag of clothes, Andre asked, "Who’s are these?" Mia gestured with her chin toward their son lying unattended on the bed, "That’s for our heaviest hitter." Later, Mia, still buzzing with excitement, dressed their son in his new outfit and paraded him downstairs to show off to her husband and child.

Molly, after a day out herself, returned home to find her best friend transformed into a devoted wife and mother, while she hadn’t progressed at all. She reflected deeply on her own life. So, just before the year’s end, Molly visited the Byrne family and was shocked to discover her home was being renovated! "Renovated?" "Mom, why are you redoing Chad’s bedroom?" "It’s too small for the both of you." Molly stammered, "We can... not... sleep together." Coleen glanced at her daughter, who pretended not to understand, knowing some things didn’t need to be spelled out.

Molly stormed into the police station to confront Chad. As the officers saw the fiery Jade approach, Donnie and others teased, "Here she comes, bringing her temper with her! The boss is in for another headache." "Bro, why are you renovating the bedroom? We can keep sleeping in separate rooms after we’re married." As soon as Jade stepped into the office, she made a beeline for Chad, ready to lay out her first post-wedding request. Chad set aside his stack of files, leaned back in his chair with a quizzical look, and asked, "Separate bedrooms? Then what’s the point of getting hitched?"
