On the first day of the new term, Mia, armed with all her credentials and carrying her backpack, headed to the office to transfer her major.
Jade personally accompanied Mia to handle the paperwork.
Unexpectedly, they ran into Leo there. Seeing Leo, Jade and Mia couldn't help but laugh.
Jade teased Leo, "Leo, how's the studying going?"
Leo ground his teeth and said, "Jade, Mia, I don't know what I've done to offend you." While Mia planned to change her major, Leo planned to escape them by changing classes.
However, when they arrived at the office, they were told that Mia couldn't change her major, and Leo couldn't change classes either.
The school leaders had specifically singled them out.
Jade asked, "Teacher, did you make a mistake? I remember Mia transferred to the business school during the summer vacation. I even have the transfer certificate on my phone, with the signatures of two deans. Why can't she transfer now?"
The teacher in the office didn't verify it again, but answered, "Your families don't agree with your transfer. You should go home and discuss it with them first."
Mia said, "Since I turned eighteen, my parents have stopped interfering with my decisions. Teacher, your excuse is a bit far-fetched." She frowned at the teacher.
Leo also said, "Indeed, I can confirm what she said. But why can't I switch classes if Mia can't change her major?"
The teacher smiled and said, "Leo, why don't you ask your uncle? Andre is a major shareholder of the school. We have to listen to his opinion."
Andre had never interfered with Leo's school life. Due to his father being an official, Leo had enjoyed a lot of privileges in school. Nobody really knew what his father did. If people know he was related to Andre, he would get a lot of bad friends.
So, Andre and Bruce never let Leo enjoy the convenience brought by their status.
But this time, Andre interfered with Leo's business for the first time, all because of Mia.
When Andre mentioned this at lunch with the school leaders, everyone was shocked.
Turns out Leo's father was the mayor of Havenbrook and his uncle was the business tycoon, Andre!
After returning, the principal immediately adjusted Leo and Mia's student status as per Andre's request.
So everyone knew about Leo's identity, and Leo started to feel uneasy.
He looked at Mia, about to ask if Andre had anything to do with it, when he noticed Mia frowning deeply.
She probably guessed it was Andre's doing too.
Mia asked the office teacher, "Did Andre also block my transfer?"
The office teacher nodded to Mia.
They were puzzled, Leo was Andre's nephew, it made sense to prevent him from switching classes, but why couldn't Mia change her major?
After all, Mia was just an ordinary student, why would he bother?
They didn't understand Mia's identity, so they didn't show her the respect she deserved.
Mia slammed her documents on the table and left the office.
"Mia, where are you going?" Jade shouted.
Mia came to school early in the morning, excited for the start of the new term, to see old friends, she was ecstatic.
But when she got there, she found out it was all a lie.
