The Alpha's Unblessed Wife novel Chapter 4

Finally, the day of Akeel's succession ceremony arrived, and my excitement was palpable. I endeavored to focus on the festivities, temporarily putting aside my concerns. A contented smile adorned my face as I gazed at the dress I had meticulously crafted. The flowing beige chiffon gown cascaded gracefully down to my ankles, boasting a subtle slit on my right leg, positioned three inches below my waist.

Taking my time, I applied makeup that perfectly complemented the dress – a light and suitable touch. I opted for a matte nude lipstick to complete the look. Satisfied with my reflection, I adorned a white and silver flower headdress, securing it in a casual bun atop my head.-

Staring at my reflection in the mirror, I encountered a vastly transformed Akiah. The person looking back at me was undeniably beautiful. I struggled to recall the last time I had adorned makeup and ventured out with such an aura of confidence and allure.

In that moment, it struck me: I was indeed beautiful that I hardly even recognized myself.

The smile that graced my lips was involuntary, an authentic response to the striking sight before me.

However, my contemplations soon drifted back to my life with Gustav, despite my efforts to avoid dwelling on them. Memories began to resurface, an involuntary cascade of recollections. Living alongside Gustav had proven draining. My sleep was compromised, my priorities constantly dictated by his needs and the demands of his family. The toll on me was evident – I was hesitant to leave the house, fearing that at any given moment, Gustav might require my presence, binding me to his side whenever the situation arose.

It brought me a sense of contentment that, even if for just a single day, I could embrace the freedom to indulge in my own choices, dress as I pleased, and prioritize my own well-being.

With my preparations complete, I hastened out of my room and made my way to Akeel's quarters. Handing him the ensemble I had crafted exclusively for him, I directed him with a playful authority. "Put these on," I instructed with a smile. His expression lit up as he accepted the pieces – a white sleeveless button-down shirt, matching pants, and a full-length overcoat, adorned with delicate gold detailing.

"Mine?" Akeel's incredulous question hung in the air, his eyes shimmering with surprise and gratitude.

I affirmed his question with a nod, drawing him into a warm hug. "Absolutely. I have every confidence in you. But no matter what unfolds, remember that I'm here to support you every step of the way," I assured him, my words carrying a sense of steadfast commitment.

Having shared my encouragement and well-wishes, I gently prodded him to don the outfit, mindful that the ceremony was ready to commence, with guests and attendees already assembled. It was time to initiate the proceedings.

Stepping out into the backyard, I found the meticulously arranged garden, complete with chairs and tables for the guests. Positioned at the forefront were six chairs, reserved for the leaders of the six prominent werewolf clans. The scene was completed by a lavishly set buffet table, and the entire area was illuminated by a cascade of lights, a testament to the upcoming ceremony that was scheduled to unfold from nine in the evening until midnight.
