Caspian?
Brittany's heart skipped a beat. Wasn't that Isaac?
"Him?"
"Yeah, looks like he's pretty steamed."
Hannah sent over the surveillance video. After watching it, Brittany felt a headache coming on, a wave of memories she had intentionally tried to forget flooded back.
That night, they had one too many drinks.
Hannah had set up a blind date for her, but ended up leaving with Derek. Brittany, drunk, had wandered to the restroom and bumped into Isaac on her way out—
And what happened next seemed all too eager on her part!
Brittany's cheeks flamed red. She grabbed her phone and dialed Isaac.
He picked up: "What's up?"
"Last time at Imperial City, did we... spend the night together?"
Brittany's voice trembled, hoping it was him.
It had to be!
Isaac chuckled lightly: "You remembered?"
"So it was you. Then why did you take off so early the next day?"
Isaac realized she got it wrong: "Take off? I went down to grab some breakfast. By the time I got back, you were gone."
"I wanted to talk to you, but then you had already headed back to Craneville..." Isaac explained smoothly: "Later, I wanted to bring it up, but you didn't mention it, so I thought you knew."
Brittany felt a weight lift off her heart.
She took a deep breath: "I—"
"Passengers for Flight F2345, please begin boarding—"
"Bri, I gotta board now. We'll talk when I land. Take care."
Isaac still had one last part of his plan to execute, after which he could finally sever ties with Elijah.
Before Brittany could respond, the call ended.
