Isaac had murder in his eyes. The color of Loraine's face quickly turned from red to purple as her strength to struggle gradually faded.
"Zac, I really know I was wrong."
"Scared?"
Isaac's voice was as cold as ice, making Loraine truly frightened.
She was afraid that he would actually kill her. Apologizing non-stop, she said, "I know I was wrong; I’ll never do such a thing again. I just love you; I just want to be with you."
If Isaac hadn't married Brittany, would she have resorted to such despicable means?
Isaac looked like he was about to kill someone, and although Jason tried to intervene, Nathan caught his hands and pinned them to the door, rendering him immobile.
Just when Loraine thought she would be strangled to death, Isaac let go of her, and Nathan handed over a wet tissue.
He took it and slowly wiped his fingers. His gaze was indifferent and devoid of any emotion.
"This is the last time. If you don't know when to quit, I'll take down the entire Field family with you."
He tossed the used tissue into the trash can, then coldly left the room.
Jason had long been dumbfounded, and Loraine was seething, lying on the bed, her teeth grinding audibly.
Isaac, how dare you do this to me!
You wanted to protect Brittany? Impossible!
When he returned to the hospital, Brittany had already awakened.
Donna Dustin was still unconscious, and Brittany was standing at the door of the ICU, with her eyes bloodshot.
Isaac took off his coat and draped it over her. Brittany hugged his waist as her tears soaked through the thin fabric, making his heart ache unbearably.
"It's all my fault. If I had clarified things from the start, Grandma wouldn't have gotten sick."
"Don't blame yourself. We can't predict the future." Isaac comforted her gently. He crouched down, cupped Brittany's face, and wiped away her tears. "Your grandma will get better. Everything will be alright."
Choking on her tears, Brittany asked, "Where did you go?"
When she woke up and didn't see him the first thing, she felt uneasy.
"I had to take care of some things, but it's all done now. I'll stay here until your grandma wakes up."
Brittany felt a warmth well up in her heart upon hearing this. Thank goodness she had Isaac.
