Isaac spotted her silence and gestured for Hannah to leave.
After Hannah left, he whispered, "Sorry, I didn't notice your disappearance when I was in H city. If I'd realized earlier, maybe..."
"This has nothing to do with you."
Brittany shook her head as Isaac rushed to H city for his grandmother's sake and came back overnight. She was already very grateful.
She had been living alone for many years, and Isaac had helped her a lot this time.
After she woke up, she noticed a slight weariness in Isaac's eyes, probably from the lack of rest.
She shifted her body a bit, taking his hand and asking, "How long was I out?"
"Three days."
Isaac gently stroked her cheek, "I've taken care of your grandma's affairs, and I've made all those videos public. No one will target you now. I've also sued everyone on the internet in collaboration with the Chester family."
He knew what she was worried about.
Brittany knew Isaac was meticulous in his work. Feeling sorry for his lack of rest these past few days, she pulled his hand and asked, "Can you come up and lie down with me for a bit?"
The death of her grandmother had drained her.
Seeing him so haggard, it felt like a knife to her heart.
Isaac was a clean freak. Under normal circumstances, he would refuse for not having showered.
But at this moment, he relished this long-lost warmth. He took off his coat and carefully avoided Brittany's injuries before lying down.
Brittany had slept for a long time and was not sleepy at that moment.
"Are you hungry? Do you want to eat something?"
"No."
Brittany had no appetite, and Isaac didn't push it. He held Brittany and soon drifted off to sleep.
His breathing quickly became steady.
Looking up, Brittany saw his hard jawline and his eyes that seemed even thinner. A pang of pain shot through her heart.
She carefully got up, put on her slippers, got out of bed, and covered him with the quilt.
After sleeping for several days, she was mostly recovered, but her injured arm was still wrapped in gauze.
She tiptoed out of the ward.
