She still wanted to resist.
Isaac glared at Derek as if he'd run out of patience. "Derek, from this moment on, if Loraine screws up again, you're going down with her!" He turned and stomped off.
Hannah was seething at Loraine and Derek. She flipped them off and stormed out too.
Derek stood there, feeling pretty lousy.
Loraine was still crying in his arms. She didn't seem like she wanted to apologize. Derek's head was throbbing from her sobbing, and he looked dead serious.
"You promised me you wouldn't hurt Brittany again. Why do this?" he challenged.
Loraine was taken aback that Derek would confront her. Her eyes immediately welled up.
"Loraine, I know you're not into me. You only married me because of that night," he said with a heavy heart. He'd noticed Loraine's recent behavior, and it dawned on him that she'd changed.
"I won't force you to stay married to me.
But if you do want to stay married, don't hurt Brittany again or pull stunts like this."
Taking a deep breath, Derek let go of Loraine. "I've got things to handle. I'm off. You think about it."
After he left, Loraine, in a fit of rage, trashed the room.
That night, under Jason's pressure and persuasion, she posted a public apology video.
...
Brittany woke up feeling warm.
She was looking at a man's bare skin. His hand was on her waist, gripping her so tightly it was as if he wanted to meld her into him.
She tried to move, but her lower body was numb from his weight.
At her movement, Isaac woke up, opened his eyes, and kissed her gently behind the ear. "You awake? Do you feel uncomfortable anywhere?"
After sleeping, Brittany felt much better. "I'm fine now."
Isaac sat up, wrapped her in a blanket, and carried her to the living room, "How about some soup?"
At that moment, Brittany realized she was hungry. "Yes, please."
Isaac went to the kitchen. Brittany picked up her phone and noticed a bunch of unread messages.
